Don’t have to get to #2 to get a very good QB. Top 15 and maybe even top 20 will likely still get you into the QB lottery in a QB heavy draft. Remember where Big Ben was drafted? How many teams will be looking for a QB in the top 20 next year? Plenty of room for 4-5 very good QBs to fall into...
His talent makes him worth a 2nd. His maturity makes that worth a 4th. I’ll take the 3rd and the 5th-6th swap as a Steelers fan. Without an extension, GP would have been a hold out/in and given his 1/2 effort on more plays than usual when he did see the field.
FWIW, Bleacher Report draft coverage had a QB scout on as a guest speaker who called Sanders a 6th round pick (about 10-20 picks before he went off the board). So everybody pimping him for the first few rounds needs to pump the brakes. There’s a reason Mel Kiper isn’t an NFL GM at the moment, guys.
What I’ll add to the Tomlin discussion is: Where is the Tomlin coaching tree? Most OC/DC and sub coaches hired are Tomlin picks. They have never been good at developing young talent, and I can’t think of much in the way of success after Tomlin with the most notable probably being Ariens.
All the game threads I watched were also pretty quiet. My guess is a lot of people were drained from partying for the Tyson fight and UFC fight the prior two nights.
