Kerkez has been the scene of the crime a lot so far this year, but it's hard to believe he's the only problem despite the core of last-year's team being intact (at least today). LFC are definitely off defensively though.
Subs: Gomez, Wirtz, Chiesa, Jones, Ekitike, Robertson, Frimpong, Ngumoha
This has to be the best bench LFC has ever fielded in my time watching the club.
In case you know someone who needs this info (club + national):
Ronaldo: 1049 played, 701 non-PK goals, 221 assists, 163/192 PKs - 84.8% conversion
Messi: 998 played, 711 non-PK goals, 393 assists, 105/129 PKs - 81.4% conversion
Messi has fewer games played, more non-PK goals, and 172 more...
Ooo-la-la, that first Messi goal turning back the years. Beauty.
That second touch... 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (the reverse angle shows him bringing it down for a 3rd touch perfectly)
Probably best for Ray that he missed this one. Strokes are real.
Forest sacked Ange in the tunnel after the match.
One of the underrated aspects of sports is watching billionaires collide with the real world when they find out the opponents aren't required to kowtow.
Infantino clearing the way for the powers that be to switch cities ended any chance that I'll try to get tickets to this thing until like two days before kickoff. Maybe they do move some games and utterly crush the secondary market or something, but barring that... no way.
Prospective pots...
Would be fairly hard for Pot1 teams to have a tough draw. Even the US is likely to be really competitive with the Pot2 teams, favored to one degree or another over Pot3, and then would need to avoid Italy and maybe one other play-in team from Pot4. Pot4 is the big wildcard...
I feel like the WC scenario you laid out is how it's been for a long time. And now the easy game is "should definitely win" and the tossup game is "favored to win". Assuming the team shows up next summer.
Not sure what the definition of "big time throw" is but he had three or four that had to qualify. Back footer to Johnson on 3rd down and the ball that led to PI in the end zone top the list. Also hit a bunch of passes in stride that helped with YAC. Think he looks really legit.
