I think they should just cap rookie salaries.... they are way overpaid and unless Lawrence Taylor or Joe Montana is coming out, you don't want the #1 pick.
I agree completely.... Eli now has the clout to tell him to shut his mouth in the huddle... and after seeing Eli in the playoffs, I think Shockey should be smart enough now to know that Eli doesn't need a second coach in the huddle. Giants GM Jerry Reese is very smart about money, so they won't...
True. Especially in the Superbowl, he literally stood up blitzing LBs and DBs of the Pats... it was like they ran into a brick wall. Gave Eli some nice protection.
Good point... veteran leadership is important, and Ward is the oldest back right now, I think a 4 year vet. Hedgecock - they love him - they inked him to an extension before the season ended.
Well, in NY he is a legend now, and what you say above is basically true in the mind of a lot of fans. Not that it matches reality, but he is a golden boy in New York forever.
Sorry man.... but do you have any idea that second to last throw was? If Giants CB Webster didn't get a finger in there at the right time... Moss would have caught it. For Brady to deliver that ball under all that pressure, across the field, all the way down it.... he has an arm bro.
I think Droughns is gone, frankly. He's scheduled to be paid too much than he contributes, especially with the emergence of Ward and Bradshaw this year. Towards the last half of the season, and especially in the playoffs, Droughns hardly saw the field. I don't know why the Giants would keep him...
Basically, both Jacobs and Ward are solid RBs, but they're also injury liabilities. Bradshaw looks awesome, but you need to pair him with either Jacobs or Ward, whoever happens to be healthy at the time. Smart move by the Giants in trying to re-sign Ward.
I think if Favre returns, yeah Jennings will probably be top 5. He's clearly replaced Driver as the #1 out there... GB is young overall and only going to improve. They have a lot of talent at RB now, and Jennings is going to be soooooooo dangerous on the play action pass. If he's not top 5 next...
I'd take Eli any day. Yes, I am a Giants fan. But - let me tell you, since he came in as a rookie, there is one thing about him that has remained consistent.... his ability to lead the team down for a TD in the 2 minute drill. He may still throw INTs in the other 56 minutes of the game, but in...
2 completed passes and Dallas would have won. Romo threw behind TO one one play that would have been a sure TD. Later, Crayton dropped a perfect pass that would have equated to huge yardage, possibly a score. If those 2 catches are made, Dallas would have won. Is that the fault of the assistant...
I'm very worried about starting Kitna this week. It's my first playoff game and I need a bigf performance... and my backup is Garcia.... :goodposting:
In my opinion, Merrill Hoge is one of the best football analysts out there. He doesn't just look at numbers, he watches hours of film. This...
I think I'll be starting Henry this week for my first playoff game..... but damn, I hate Shanahan, you never know what he's going to do~! I bet Cecil Sapp is going to get 15 carries and the TD... argh!
