Consensus Top 350 Albums of All-Time: 180. Rust Never Sleeps – Neil Young and Crazy Horse

I will ultimately defer to those who had this higher ranked than I did, but I would go with “Racing in the Street”. https://youtu.be/cm9UuM3UXdc?si=mh9pAG6gcZeA6hi7

I agree with you. This album solidified my enjoyment of blues. I think Clapton did great justice to all of these songs and artists. I’ll also agree with “Five Long Years” for the playlist. I think that has some of Clapton’s best guitar work.

I’m also a fan of Riding With the King. I could have ranked that one easily, but it slipped through the cracks on me.

I gotta go with “Sweet Home Chicago”, but I would definitely be okay with “She Caught the Katy”.

The bar band I play in loves to incorporate Blues Brothers music into our gigs, and as a bassist, Donald “Duck” Dunn is probably my greatest influence. The music in this soundtrack is infectious, and the musicians are top notch. John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd, despite their Hollywood bona fides...

My apologies. I thought I was replying to the post about The River. I messed that up something good! 😑

I love the music Kansas put out through the years, but I couldn’t place a specific album at the time with which to nominate. I’m very glad that others were more in touch with things and gave this band some well deserved support.

Consensus Top 350 Albums of All-Time: 180. Rust Never Sleeps – Neil Young and Crazy Horse

This pick would have been more controversial when and shortly after its release, as record companies became disenchanted with Springsteen’s releases during this time, as they didn’t seem to show the success nor creativity of his earlier releases. I think the record has overcome the initial...

Consensus Top 350 Albums of All-Time: 180. Rust Never Sleeps – Neil Young and Crazy Horse

This was an easy call for me. The 2-disc set featured several songs of more than 7 minutes, and the longest of them all is a terrific version of “In Your Eyes”. Gabriel introduces African musicians who add a great deal to a style that already was considered prog rock. My favorite track is...

I was warned that Rush tends to bring out a bit of emotion among this group. With that said, I appreciate the different tastes and styles of music portrayed even if I’m not a huge fan of a particular genre.

I was surprised to see this album make the cut. I am a Rush fan, but this one never crossed my mind. I considered earlier albums, as I thought the group took a step back starting with this album. Living up to its predecessors was a tall task, though. Not a bad album at all, though.

This worries me a touch. I have another “unplugged” album listed but without the MTV. I hope I didn’t cause any confusion because of that.

I was tossing between this one and a different PF album. I ultimately chose this one for Echoes, One of These Days, and my perception that this album introduced the sound that would make Pink Floyd so popular throughout the decade. The album was groundbreaking, IMO.
