    TSA questions

See...I'm an over-packer, and often have to bring multiple suits, etc. I've gotten to the point where I hate dealing with the overhead bin crap. I get a free checked bag, so as long as I'm not flying with other work folks who I'll slow down, I'll just check a bag. It's so freeing to have just...

    TSA questions

It is down right shocking how fast and generally relaxing my work travel is vs. going somewhere with the wife and kids. I have my routine down to a science. Throw family into the mix, and the random bathroom breaks, frequent water bottle fill-ups, and constant general needs slow everything...

*** Official 2024-25 NHL, back to Rangers talk ***

Super excited to watch his debut tonight. I would generally be cautious about messing with a good thing, but after losing 3 straight, and having a stagnant power play, I'm hoping the buzz around his debut can help us snap out of this funk. Hoping he slots into the 3rd line in place of Raddysh...

    Delivery Question / Tipping

For stuff like that, any tip is commensurate with work done above and beyond, as well as general courteousness of the delivery crew. In most cases, you're getting $10 -$20 depending on the job, or getting nothing. I'll very rarely tip a small amount. In the OP's example, I'd have probably...

$50 per unique high five for one year or $250,000 right away?

I think you hit on something - social media could make this blow up. If people can crowd-source $50,000 for a grandmother who can't afford to mow her lawn, imagine how many people you could get to mobilize in a large city if you said, "Some crazy person said they'd pay me $50 per high-five...

$50 per unique high five for one year or $250,000 right away?

I will say - we did a team building activity at work. Group of about 60 people from all around the world. The activity was to quickly give as many high-fives as you could in 5 seconds, 10 seconds, etc. The activity was cool because you very quickly discovered the group instinctively formed...

$50 per unique high five for one year or $250,000 right away?

Yeah...I'd sit outside the busiest areas I could with a sign that says "high-five and I'll give you $5." I think I could get 5,000 people, plus the extra 550 or so I'd need to make up the $5 loss per person in 2 or 3 big sporting events. The rest is profit.

What's a typical weekday for you?

Generally speaking... 7:00 AM - Wake up either via alarm, kids, or wife or a combination of those 7:00 - 7:45 - Shower, shave, etc. then head downstairs. If I'm WFH, I'm usually wearing joggers and a nice quarter-zip in the winter, shorts and a polo in the summer. 7:45 - 8:15 - Hang in the...

    Good quality kitchen knives?

I didn't realize the "desired" edge angle was changing - I'll have to keep an eye on that. The sharpener I bought from Work Smart fortunately is adjustable. It's versatile - will do serrated knives too. It's a bit of a bear to get out, but I usually just do it 1x or 2x per year, and just...

    Good quality kitchen knives?

We have a set of Wusthof classic knives that we've gradually added to over the last 15 years. They're suitable for what we need. Two years ago I got a really nice sharpening set from Work Sharp that really revitalized our set. I keep up with maintenance sharpening with a honing rod, but...

*** Official 2024-25 NHL, back to Rangers talk ***

Yeah. Just a few years ago, our prospect pipeline was bottom 5 in the league, and now it's probably top 5 or at least in the top 10.

    sick of being sick

So I was full-on sick about a month and a half ago. I think I picked up some bug from our C-suite who were all sick post-international travel. The bug itself wasn't horrible and cleared on its own...but...ever since then, I've had a very very mild amount of congestion in just my left nostril...

Is this true? If your ring finger is longer than your index finger...

46, ring finger longer than index finger - full head of hair and no thinning. Plenty of greying though. Horrible maternal-side genetics for balding as most of my cousins are bald/balding already. Good genetics on my paternal side as my dad is 74 and still has a lot of hair, in relative terms...

Get Your Butt Back To The Office

I totally get this for folks starting out. I've been with my company for 15+ years, and have a deep network internally. I also now spend most of my time on external facing investor calls, so they're not in our office anyway. My wife has switched companies twice since COVID, and she has...
