This sounds like a disaster. Those offers were added during pending disconnection, correct? I wonder if that kicked you off the winback eligibility. In the past, there were times when having existing offers was a problem, but I don't recall that being an issue recently. However, the company has...
Deal is done. Well, let's hope so at least. Here's my notes:
-Directv deal to split off from ATT has happened. Some changes are afoot.
-Set up cancellation in mid July to cancel on the 2nd of August. Was told I had a 24 month agreement, not 12. Was able to prove this was a mistake by showing...
That's the one I am planning to use once my account is actually disconnected. Was told it would disconnect today, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe it doesn't occur in the morning anymore?
I called and put my cancellation in. Was offered $40 off for the year. No thanks. I also found out that I somehow got a 2-year contract added to my account. I believe this might have happened when they accidently tried to charge me for a new receiver a month after the last deal started. Ugh.
A few notes about my experience:
-Gift card process is much faster as you can get the card digitally now. I've already spent mine.
-Watch out for equipment fees. I was charged $200 a receiver. This is an error, of course, but they are making me pay it and then hope to have it credited back...
It doesn't seem to matter. You can just call and say that your account is cancelled and want to see if there are any deals before returning your equipment.
I tried adding additional discounts to my deal through winback and loyalty department to no avail. Looks like you either got to call back right away or wait a bit. I'm apparently in the but-we-already-gave-you-these-discounts zone.
I haven't tried yet calling back yet. I'm assuming you could try anytime, though. I'm feeling pretty confident you can get those COVID deals on top of any current discounts. I think that's actually why folks had the "oh yeah" moment during pre-cancellation calls where they were adding a COVID...
Service disconnected this morning. Mine was set to cancel on the 1st. I was paying $55 total for Xtra with HBO. Called the winback line (888-333-0804). Was offered Xtra at $75 (plus RSN, 1 TV) along with a $100 Visa card, Sunday Ticket Max, premium movies channels for 3 months. I pushed back on...
Nope. Upon calling them again, they basically told me to wait until the service is cancelled. Based on information provided, I would say they aren't able to drop my discounts that end on the 2nd with this new system, so you either have to be in pending with no current promos or fully cancelled...
I set my cancellation date for August 3rd on the 24th of July. I called the winback line (888-333-0804) today to see if I could get any offers while the disconnect was pending.
The rep was talking what sounded what could be a pretty good deal, but there were some technical issues. It sounds...
I had a pretty similar deal the last year. I called and set up the cancellation for the 3rd, which is when all the discounts expire. I was offered the $40 off for 6 months, but that's just not enough. What's your plan for trying to get a winback offer?
