That would be my major question. In college played for a team that was cheating and stealing signs. Immediately after the cheating being revealed, he had 0 pass attempts in the second half in a game vs. Penn State. That told me something. Talented arm. Decent athlete/runner. Can he read a defense?
That's exactly why people should stay away from this Mahomes guy. Texas Tech produces system QBs and has never had anyone have success in the NFL. The next Kliff Kingsbury if you ask me. Same thing with Justin Herbert. Remember Joey Harrington and Akili Smith? Bust written all over him...
Air Yards is Rec Yards-Yards After Catch. Divide that number by number of targets.
Perhaps a better metric would've been average target distance?
Curtis Samuel: 12.4 average target distance (#40 in NFL)
DJ Moore: 9.1 average target distance (#86 in NFL)
Not saying Curtis Samuel is better...
Is this really true?
Curtis Samuel: 402 air yards (6.2p/tgt)
DJ Moore: 382 air yards (4.7p/tgt)

Shows highlights game by game in chronological order. Sure seems like he was catching the ball downfield.
