RUMOR: Matt Millen on his way out of Detroit?

Shocking that a man with no front office experience whatsoever did a poor job running a team. Why the Fords picked Millen in the first place I've never been able to reconcile.

Wheelhouse - Interesting Stats, Info and Tidbits

Great post, as always. Here's a pet stat of mine: the last 16 "scores" for the Chargers have been touchdowns. Poor Kaeding owners!

    NFL Network commercial curse?

And I thought I was the only guy goofy enough to think this. I agree. It's the new curse. Oh, and I'm *this* close to believing in the Madden jinx. It's just happened too many times.

As always, one of the highlights of the week. Tremendous.

    Week 10 WW pick-ups.

Battle has a bad hand. See what they say Monday before you make a move.Okay, make that "broken hand" apparently. He shrugs and says he'll play through it. Hmm. http://49ers.pressdemocrat.com/default.asp?item=277377

Wheelhouse - Interesting Stats, Info and Tidbits

As always, fantastic stuff, a favorite part of my week. As for the TEs leading the league in catches, Tony Gonzalez did it in 2004 (102 catches, Mason next with 96). Prior to that it goes back to Todd Christensen, 95 catches in 1986. Christensen also did it in 1983, and now I realize maybe you...

    Sleeper defense down the stretch...

I love the idea of this thread and I think there are often hidden defenses out there for the taking even in deep leagues . . . but I have my doubts on the NYJ defense for fantasy. I just don't see where the pass rush is going to come from. And without a pass rush, it's a lot harder to get the...

What is the footballguys consensus on footballoutsiders.com?

It's an interesting site. It's different. Worth poking around, for sure. A lot of intelligent people there. At times some of their guys (really just one guy) come off a little arrogantly, but given how much work they've put into the baby, I guess I can see that. I'm not justifying it, just...

why peter king kind of bugs me

Two snippets from Peter King's current piece on SI.com. Key elements bolded. Defensive Player of the Year 1. Champ Bailey, cornerback, Denver; 2. Julius Peppers, defensive end, Carolina; 3. (tie) Brian Urlacher, linebacker, Chicago, and Adalius Thomas, linebacker/defensive end/safety...

    Top 250 Forward

I was surprised to see Fitzgerald ranked above Walker. If I could pull that trade off today, I'd do it immediately.

Great stuff as always. Colston is yet another example of why the combine is overrated for wideouts. Forget the workout wonders, show me someone who can get open and catch the ball.

Colts: Both Addai and Rhodes questionable

I think this week more than any other week Dungy and Belichick are intentonally wagging the dog here. It's mostly BS.

    Now that Ourlads is charging........

I have to admit I'm normally not a big fan of that site in general, but their depth chart page at first glance seems very useful, and attractive to the eye as well. Good recco.

    pro-football-reference.com Suggestion Box

Doug's site is fantastic, I go there every day during the football season. I also give a small donation to the site, I wish it were more (and as I can give more, I will). My humble suggestion, and I've sent it to him, is to have the player stats on the team pages sorted by something other than...

Who could have covered Wayne better than Darrent Williams?

Blitzing generally is playing right into Manning's hands. The teams that give him trouble normally hurt him by disguinging their rushing, not by bringing the house. Easier said than done, but if you're blitzing and challenging him to make hot reads and those throws, you'll probably get lit up...
