Unfortunately, there are only 2 conferences now. Way back machine here, but Bear Bryant once proposed a 64 team NCAA thing with 4 sets of 16 teams. I put about as much stock on that 5/6 ranking as I do the committee's weekly report during the season. I hate the committee so much, and it was always a dumb idea. We should've kept the BCS when expanding to 4.

I do think Texas is skating by way too much in this discussion. The only thing people want to do is mention the Bama game and move on. Head to head should be considered, but not in a vacuum. I expect a rematch in Houston to figure that out now.

That's unfortunate if so. I have completely checked out on regular news, so I have no idea what Fox or anyone else is saying, and you can date that back nearly a year or more.
