I generally agree with all of that with one note - the max annual raise for a player being resigned or extended by his current team is 8%. Everybody thought the cap was going to be going up 10% a year (the max allowable per the new CBA) but the NBA is already telling teams to expect a 7% raise...
You know what is even worse than trading the player that everybody loves? Not trading him and being 30-52 for a half decade anyway without the treasure trove of assets they just got.
If Booker had played better last year, I think the easy choice would have been to trade him to Houston for some...
Duren will still be 21 years old on opening day. He is younger than one third of the players drafted this year (4 first rounders, 16 second rounders). I'm not saying he will continue to improve but counting him out at 21 years old is strange, especially when he had some improvement over the last...
@jvdesigns2002 - for whatever reason quoting your post is kind of broken...
Regarding last season, I think you are using a combination of revisionist history to think the Nuggets were a contender (they weren't except for a brief moment during OKC game 6 prior to Gordon hurting his hammy)...
They have nobody that can either guard the ball nor protect the paint. While the Doncic trade was great, they traded one of the very best defensive players in the NBA for one of the very worst. They also replaced a good defensive player (DFS) with a mediocre one (LaRavia).
Their defense was...

The big outlier was Denver in 22-23 but that comes with two huge caveats -...
1. Again, Ayton was bought out because the 12th seeded Blazers didn't think he was worth having around. Not to say that I don't think Ayton is useful, but two teams have given up on him in three years because both because of his play and his off the court antics. He's a very good defensive...
I'm not sure if this is trolling or the best JMon impression we've ever had here.
Who is the Lakers 4th best player? Do they have a definitively plus defender that will be in the rotation? Did you just call the guy that the 36-46 Blazers were so desperate to get off of that they ate...
The last deal was $10m guaranteed and I doubt he was going to get any more than the baby mid-level (~$6m) if he signed somewhere else outright. Probably about a wash for this season, but as @Juxtatarot said, there are some sort of guarantees in year two that haven't been released yet. Even if it...
