All 3 players they brought in today are young/cheap contracts with some upside. Not expected to be good but definite upgrades at WR and depth at CB/DL. They hit on Bri's Brownlee so hopefully one or two others hit as well.
Its an offensive league and without one a team has little shot. If they do t his right and use all the high capital on QB, WR, etc they can finally put together a good O - then with all the cap space and sneaky trades plus AG schemes then the d can be good enough.
Sick of going all in on...
1st look on overthecap -
Jets to have over $100M cap space in 2026 and $210M in 2027 - more than enough to extend Breece and JJ plus a ton more.
Throw in 2 1sts and 2 2ds in 2026 along with 3 1sts in 2027
Like it or hate it - its a much better position to rebuild
As I said - I think this is about a shift - dump the defensive studs for capital and invest in the O....as such they keep GW and Breece to give the new QB weapons with a solid OL. Enough capital to draft QB and another top WR. Also hope one of the 2 lotto WRs acquired can be #3 WR and the O is...
I really liked both Q and Sauce but bottom line is they've been part of losing for years and its not getting better.....not saying its their fault but the jets are a 1 win team with them and certainly can be without them.....at least there is a future here with capital and a ton of cap space...
Stephens turnaround, Brownlee steal and the 3 rd CB playing well made this possible - will they continue to play well? Time will tell.
Its clear the rebuild will be focused on offense. They now have a ton of cap space - I can see them extending Breece now
Colts are 7-2 with a top young team - they are looking at 2 late rd 1sts for a top CB.
Who knows who they can draft with those picks - if lucky one could turn out to be Sauce!
