Picked up Obomanu off waivers on a hunch and played him, because what good is a hunch like that if you don't go all the way and play him. The guys is owned in 4% of all Yahoo and CBS leagues. Sweet.
4% owned in all Yahoo leagues; 2% started in all CBS leagues. Didn't have to sit anyone special for him (Jahvid Best and Ryan Mathews out, James Jones and Nate Washington as other options), but picked him up and played him at the last minute on a hunch. I'll be bragging about that one for years.
So, one of my leagues is a shallow bench (4 bench spots for 13 starters) PPR league. I think bench is too shallow, but it does create for some interesting waiver action and ends up playing into strategy through the year. In any event, one owner this week straight up dropped J. Stew and another...
Would be nice to know what the various timetables are. ESPN, rotoworld, footballyguys someone get on this. Short bench, no injured reserve status, I need to decide whether to drop him outright or not.
The stats and TD numbers don't bear this (that Arenas is the better returner) out 1/4 through the season, but Todd Haley's decisionmaking does seem to be divorced from reality (i.e., not giving Charles a bigger load). Hmmm. If this is accurate (and I have no reason not to believe that), big...
Anyone know why Arenas got most of the return yardage vs. Hou? Is Haley reducing McCluster's role on returns to save him for touches on offense or something? Insight from homers appreciated.
(Had another post on this topic, so if you answered once, apologies for the repost, but the first...
As Matthews owner, don't imagine he's a buy low candidate in most leagues. Used too high of a pick on him and he still clearly has the upside of his ADP. Two more weeks of this and he's buy low, but at that point it may not be "low" but "what he's worth"
Anyone know why Arenas got so much more return yardage action in the Houston game? Has KC made a decision to cut back on McCluster's role in that area? Makes a big difference in return yardage leagues.
I view the fact that we're just learning this today to be an abysmal failure of the fantasy football intel machine. That info is pretty significant from an FF perspective. This situation never felt right, but he did go back into the game the day he got injured which was the glimmer of hope...
I'll stand by this one and risk being wrong on Monday. Even if Pitt's O isn't scoring (with Big Ben back, it will be one of the strongest that Cleveland has yet faced), they're D probably will pick up the slack with Colt McCoy in there.
I usually don't. You can often pick up your QB's backup if he goes down. Prefer to go higher risk and pick up long shot RBs or WRs. (Course, this year my QB is Cutler, so if he goes down, the fact that I can pick up Collins/Hanie? is not much consolation.)
Another way of looking at this --...
