Actually I think you make a great point. With the deep WR pool this year and the more limited reliable options at RB, the temptation is to use early picks on RBs and wait on WRs. But the fifth pick is faced with choosing between a clear (as can be) best pick at WR versus RBs who could be elite...
Starter in name only. TJ got 8 carries against the Colts, which on average were good for 2.4 yards and a cloud of dust. Charles got twice as many carries and ran for over twice as many yards on those carries. I watched the game and if anything, he looked even better than that and TJ looked worse.
Even if the time is arbitrary, it's not like you have to be there at that time - you just have to enter your picks beforehand. It's not really so much of a race and you aren't penalized for being live at a game, watching from a sports bar without internet access, or goodness forbid doing...
Ok wait I am confused. So if I projected a player to tank, but then I drafted him anyway, and he turned out to be great in week 1, I should... uhhhh... revert to my original projections that he'll tank... and drop him?

I generally don't seek out QB-WR combos but I don't go too far out of my way to avoid them either. I have Rivers-Gates in one league if that counts, but that's it. I'm more likely to take a QB-RB combo, again not deliberately but I don't avoid them either, and I have Rivers-LT2 in one league...
