Not sure on the specifics but I'm pretty sure the Calvin came down with a back injury about week 4, hampering him most of the season. I'm pretty sure he'd have "mustered" more than 48 catches. Outta curiousity, how'd Bowe do that season? Pretty sure he out performed the mighty Calvin. As for...
You say he has no incentive for staying in school? Currently he's working on a significant waste treatment project in his Major that would provide his name on a patent and a share of royalties for the rest of his natural life...that would be a significant motivation for me to stay.
A bowl game that I kept my eye on(now over) was the poinsettia bowl pitting TCU vs NIU. Important player of Note in that game - Garrett Wolfe - rushed for 28 yds on 20 carries, nations leading rusher per game at 158 yds/gm and posted 285 yds against Ohio State. The TCU defense just keyed on...
Taking the highlighted portion here...I believe Maroney had 16 carries for 48 yards against the PSU defense this past season...not real sure about you...but that's downright pitiful in my book.
Your right Colin,Taking a "snapshot" of a career is really not fair. So let's look at Hicks's entire 2 year career(we can't do this for the other three since this is their inaugural year in the league). But it's hardly fair to look at Hicks from just this season when last season also...
I gotta agree with LOD at this point anyway... I like Gore's seasonal stat line a lot better than either Brown or Caddie.Gore 102 500 3 4.9
Brown 199 886 4 4.5
Caddie 268 1097 6 4.1
recieving wise:
Gore 13 118 0
Brown 30 219 1
Caddie 20 81 0
and this is playing behind...
Colin,I define elite as head and sholders above the rest of the players at that position. I'm sorry to disappoint you but Young just isn't. I'm not, nor have I been terribly impressed with the things he does. Yes he is a QB, so yes, he does make things happen(as does any QB with an undefeated...
Stats for White for the season, 163 carries, 1024 yards, 6.3 ypc with 3 games under 4 ypc
12 catches, 184 yards, 15.3 ypc
20 TD's
Stats for Bush for the season:
163 carries, 1398 yards, 8.6 ypc, with no games under 4 ypc
31 catches, 383 yards, 12.4 ypc
16 TD's
As for if Young would do...
Here's the answer to your question Colin,Those numbers you posted are decieving at best. Sure he only averaged 85 yards per game with 54 carries earning him 343 yards over 4 games. The part your conveniently leaving out is that he is also averaging 13.5 carries per game over that 4 game...
