I did a quick look on pro-football-reference.com at QBs drafted in the first round since 2004.
From 2004 - 2016 there were 38 QBs drafted in the first round of which 8 are generally considered as franchise QBs -
2004 - Eli, Ben, and Philip Rivers
2005 - Rodgers
2008 - Ryan
2009 - Stafford...
True but it was just a one year deal when Juju couldn't find a multi-year contract close to the $$ he wanted last year. Since a he didn't find any team to give him a multi-year deal this year too it's likely he is viewed by the NFL as a good WR2 at best.
The cap space for 2023 and 2024 is currently so high because only 18 players are under contract for 2023 and only 13 players are under contract for 2024. After filling out those rosters they should still have a larger amount of $$ left than they are used to having but not as much as it...
Watson has a fully guaranteed 2022 salary of $35M. In 2023 his $20M salary and a $17M bonus become fully guaranteed the first week of the 2023 NFL year ( March 5th usually). The $$ cost and the draft picks cost would hamstring the Steelers for years.
Wentz was traded to Washington so I guess the Colts could draft a QB now.

These are exactly the type of calls the refs are TRAINED to make during a replay review. We may or may not agree but to say they did not have indisputable visual evidence to overturn is not a call we (the fans) have the knowledge to make.
I agree 100%. He was playing for the big contract but he has already slipped a noticeable amount from his best years. Paying big $$$ to a FA on his third contract rarely works out.
