Look...I like Gado a lot and think he's got a good shot to lead the team in carries this year.......but I think there's every reason to believe that our offensive line is gonna be shaky early on, given that we're implementing a new blocking scheme and half of our offensive linemen have never...
For those of you unfamiliar with the Packer running backs, I'll just let you know that Gado is far and away the RB on the roster right now who is most likely to be physically ready to play by Opening Day.....and most gamedays during the season.
Green MIGHT be back. Davenport will almost...
And not a single person in this thread has mentioned the most productive back of the 21st century.
From 2000-2004, no running back accounted for more yards from scrimmage than Ahman Green. His 2003 season was one of the top seasons of any back, ever. He made the Pro Bowl four straight...
Williams had one of the great careers in NCAA history, but playing at a smaller college he didn't get the notoriety of others.
He's going to be a star in this league. I was really hoping that the Packers would have made a deal to get him.....trading Walker and their second to move up...
Here's the story on Donald Driver:
1) He's been a pretty good receiver over the past couple of years despite being the #2 guy behind Walker in 2004 and being hurt quite a bit of the time in 2003.
2) He really doesn't have anything opposite him this year. I'd bet that Driver is the only WR...
I don't know how much you can put on the NFC North thing......that's only six games out of 16. It's not like the old days when half your schedule was within your division.
The Packers did a prettty good job against the Bengals, in Cincinnati, despite having Hero Boy throw 5 interceptions that...
I'm surprised that the Packers aren't being discussed when you talk about the better defensive teams in the league this year. Now, I'll admit I'm a homer on this, in case you couldn't tell by my user ID, but I still think that an objective look at some key facts here would certainly be enough...
DeAngelo Williams.
He's only had the fourth most prolfiic career of any RB in NCAA history......behind a fairly average line. He runs like Emmitt Smith...low to the ground, smart, good balance, sets up his blockers.
You keep giving this guy the ball and he'll rack up 1400 yards and a dozen...
I think if you read that a little more closely, Emmit, I'm actually pretty high on the team; I think they were let down by their quarterback.
And I'd rather eat worms than be a Cowboy fan.
Walker is a very talented WR. If the physical exam shows his knee is ready to play, the injury isn't going to diminish his value very much. IMO, he's a better WR than any of them coming out of the draft this year, and he's NFL ready....not some rookie who'll take time to get acclimated to...
This "running for his life" stuff is one of the most persistent and least true components of Favre mythology. In 2004, behind arguably the best offensive line the Packers have ever had in franchise history, Favre had a total of 65 sacks/knockdowns/hurries.
In 2005, despite throwing many more...
Favre hurt the team by waiting.
Favre hurt the team by coming back.
Favre hurt the team by turning it over so much.
Favre is hurting the Packers. They can't move on as long as he is there. The GM and new HC have probably 3 years to get this turned around and they're going to burn one of...
