Future wildcat/backup QB in Miami or SF?

Barring an injury, only Pittsburgh of the QB needy teams has a low amount of cap space (pre-Free Agency) and that doesn't seem like a fit (he would have to compete to be the starter). I'd wager most teams don't want him as a distraction in the offseason. He's quirky and may not be talented...

You do realize that a player waived with an injury settlement must remain out for X amount of weeks as agreed upon by the team. It's much like the IR designated for return tag. Why would you treat a player who is injured as an active player...

How do y'all handle IR when a player like Colt Lyerla is placed on IR then later waived with an injury settlement? Do you allow the team to keep him on IR?
