You think Bountygate hasn't been done before, try again

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1065608/index.htm From day one, Packer-Bear games—the first game was played in 1921—have tended to be slugfests. Last season the rivalry intensified. In the first meeting, a Monday night game on Oct. 21 (1985) at Soldier Field, coach...

Anyone else having problems getting into fanball?

I haven't had any problem accessing fanball, but don't even bother live drafting unless you have Mozilla Firefox. The live draft room has major problems with IE.

    Tampa Bay's Running game

From Matt Waldman at FFToday.comhttp://www.fftoday.com/articles/waldman/07_rookies_rbs.htm Kenneth Darby, Buccaneers: When he was a junior, I thought Ken Darby was a surefire, first day pick. But the Buccaneers 7th round selection dropped due to an unimpressive senior year and poor showing at...

Not a Bill, But Paul Hornung accomplished this even if you only count what he did in the 60s.

    Player Spotlight: Vincent Jackson

This is a tough one. I like Jackson and I think he will be of great help to the Chargers, but I am having difficultly building up a really strong fantasy case for him. I do think he will be the number 1 guy in San Diego this season, but if not these would be quite optimistic. :( Targets...

    wannabee Strategy Thread

Wannabe, great thread and great insights. This is somewhat of an odd question. I have an off the wall 2nd year 14 team, 9 keeper league, you can keep a player for one year minus their draft round. All of the first rounders from last year go into a specail draft with rookies, but with the...

Why do rankings use averages for consensus?

From a stat guy  You are right, from the Footballguys "population" the ranking should be a mean. If you didn't catch my last paragrah, I am a member because I value the dispersion of the mean (and thus the mean) more important than median.

Why do rankings use averages for consensus?

The OP is correct, using a mean rather than median in this case is incorrect from a statistical approach, although I must agree he has been unable to fully defend his post . I am going to screw up these terms because it is pretty much Stats 401, which I took many, many years ago. The problem...

Brandon Marshsall isn't even on the board. Interesting.

    determining consistency

Matt Waldman at FFtoday has done a pretty good job with downside consistency. http://www.fftoday.com/articles/waldman/05...nsistency_1.htm But I am with code, less so because of predictibility, more so to do with low correlations between players which tends to lower the standard error (when...
