Who knows? I clearly see your point.
But here's some data:
Out of the top 25 WRs in 2006, Wayne did have the most tackles inside the five yd-line:
8 total tackles on/inside the five, with 4 tackles on the one or two yard line!!
OTOH, Marvin had 6 total tackles o/i the five, with 3...
Currently in an SMD at Ants (w/ no one on CC yet), and from the 5 spot I have so far:
1.05 -- QB, Manning
2.08 -- RB, Portis
3.05 -- TE, Gates
4.05 -- RB, McAllister
We'll see how the rest turns out...
Link to Draft
I had Wayne in my league last year and thought this stat was interesting, so I checked play-by-play of weeks 1 through 16 (no week 17), and came up with the following:Wayne tackled or OB at/inside the 5 yard line:
@ 5 yd. = TWICE
@ 4 yd. = ONCE
@ 3 yd. = ONCE
@ 2 yd. = TWICE
@ 1 yd. = TWICE...
At the 2/3 turn, I really want to (and think I will be able to) double up on WRs and take 2 out of Holt, CJ, Owens, Smith, Marvin, Fitz, and RMoss. So if I have to wait until the 4/5 turn to take my RB2, then I really think SA is the surest bet amongst the Big 3 and I would lean towards SA...
:goodposting: :goodposting: Wow -- that's dead on right there, lebowski. I drooled over LJ for the past few months, and now I've actually landed the #1 pick in my main league. Although I'd take LJ if my draft was right now, I am second guessing and thinking about SA as the safest pick...
Good list, Mr. H.I agree with this tier after the big 3 RBs. I might even throw D Davis in there, as well. And Westbrook can't be too far behind.
EDIT: Oops, I was thinking PPR.
My leaguemates (most of them, but not all) tend to fill all starting positions first rather than go after BPA or depth at more critical positions (ie. RB). This causes many teams to start taking top defenses starting in round 5 or 6 and top kickers starting in round 7 or 8.
