There's not a wrong choice for this album. But in honor of a FBG with the same name, I'd say "Atomic Punk" would be appropriate. If not that one, "I'm the One" would be my second choice.
I had Hallowed Ground ranked somewhere around 40, so for me that's another great album. There was a huge change in their approach for the third album, Blind Leading the Naked. On the first two albums, Brian Ritchie mostly played acoustic bass, which is really unusual. Not only that, but he tore...
I was a "Dookie" ranker. Maybe some people are losing sight of this being a "favorite" album draft and not the "best"? I realize that most of the songs on that album only have 3 or 4 chords and all the songs sound the same, but this album had a lot of energy and simple progressions. It was an...
I guess this must've been a late cut for me, and it probably would've made my top 70 if I did this on a different day. "Bodies" was my favorite song on the album; such a great song to turn up loud and drive fast with the windows down.
I play guitar and read music and I spent countless hours with my Guitar magazines learning these songs back in the day. As far as that post I made, I was drinking last night and was on a mission, and I looked up all of the above, some by looking at the sheet music and I filled in the blanks with...
The difference between Metallica when they were great and then everything after 1989 is not just the sound of their guitars or whatever; they fundamentally and deliberately changed the way they wrote music and who they wrote it for. The masses and Clear Channel love 4/4 time. Bon Jovi is in...
#3, I don't remember ranking it that high, but I chose my "favorite" albums, not the "best" and I'm OK with the #3 ranking. I wouldn't even realistically be able to guess how many times I've listened to this album, and whoever said sophomore year of high school, you nailed it for me. Spring...
I've listened to both versions, and honestly, I like the original without any audible bass better. And truly, you cannot hear any bass guitar on that album because they let Lars get into the mixing room. BUT, what you get is the largest in-your-face kick drum ever because there is nothing else...
Harvester of Sorrow rocks and would be my second choice, but I'd vote for the obvious song, One. I remember being about 17 or 18 and listening to "One" in my car at full volume and thinking to myself, "I have the privilege of listening to the release of the greatest heavy metal song ever...
Same. I really enjoyed Bosch and I really wanted to enjoy Legacy, but after 4 or 5 false starts, I realized life is too short to force yourself to watch shows that you hope you like but you just don't. I am sure that his daughter is a really sweet person in real life, but making her a cop was a...
Word. Many Thanks, I love these types of lists and they're really the only things I participate in around here. Speaking of, when is the babe bracket coming back????
This and Murmer were late cuts but would've made the top 100. They were big albums for me in my teens, but I haven't listened to them in years for whatever reason.
