Just say that you are looking at going with either Dish Network or Verizon Fios, and wanted to know what you needed to do to cancel. They will respond with those providers don't have the NFL Sunday ticket. Then say that the Sunday ticket is to expensive and your wife is hounding you to cancel it.

Go to the directtv website and e-mail them. That goes to their customer retention center. That is what I do.

I agree 100% with Sharkbait. It is a monopoly. That is why we now have a choice for gas and eletric providers. A few years ago microsoft went through this in order to break up thier monopoly.
