Because it was working. Jackson (sorry for the error, have the pre-game MNF on) had a 4 yard average on 13 carries vs. the Vikings. I agree, that's not earth shattering, but it was effective enough to warrant more carries... The Pack is a passing team, no doubt, but it's going to get harder...

Until McCarthy commits to the running game there's no point. Brandon Jackson looked good enough vs the Vikings, but if Green Bay is going to go deep every 3rd and short, what's the point of signing another back?
