Steve Walsh's vocals on the bridge are so good. His voice just soars.

"Listen to the Music" is my favorite Doobie's song. It gives me a carefree feeling.

    1. Vienna Billy wrote this song for his 1977 album The Stranger. There is a lot I love about this song. I love the intro and outro, which is the gentle and intimate sound of the piano that sets the atmosphere for the song. Lyrically it is saying to stop and smell the roses, and I love how his...

This album needs some love. The three guitar attack on the song "The Needle and the Spoon" is dynamite 🧨, and I especially love the solo part. Another favorite is "The Ballad of Curtis Loew."

I was thinking this album would be on more than two lists. Oh well, it got enough points to make the cut so :headbang: For decades John Prine's debut album has been in my regular rotation. It is a beauty of a country folk album. John Prine was full of wisdom, and he wrote songs that will make...

You do have jazz on your list. Sinatra at the Sands is a jazz album. It's vocal jazz, and you have the great Count Basie and his Orchestra performing with him.

I knew you were kidding with the mom and dad stuff, but I wasn't sure if you knew why I chose BJ for this MAD. I've gotten used to my avatar, but I got used to Jerry Jeff and Ray, too. Billy has big eyes. My best friend in junior high/high school had big eyes like him, and when she would sleep...

I don't expect someone who hates him to write an objective piece, but I will check out the documentary after both parts are out. I told Uruk before this started that I'm not a Billy Joel super fan, but I am a fan of his music and very familiar with it, especially his 70s and early 80s stuff...

Captain Jack Billy wrote this song in 1971, and it was put on his 1973 album Piano Man. This is the song that gave him his big break with Columbia Records. A Philadelphia radio station (WMMR) in 1972 had him play a live radio concert at Sigma Studios. After the concert aired, they regularly...

I love this album, and it is 1b as my favorite from him. I ended up going with 1a. I did have this on my list at one point, but eventually took it off, which I did with several albums. Some of my favorites from the album are Changes, Oh! You Pretty Little Things, Life On Mars, Song for Bob...

I was hoping @New Binky the Doormat put this on his list and he did! :suds: As noted above, this is a concept album of themes from the Old West. The album consist of 10 songs, so if you see a CD with the songs "Into the Old Man's Shoes" and "Madman Across the Water" ending it, they were added...

This double live album captures a young Townes at his most authentic self. It is just him and his guitar, which is what he preferred, playing to a packed small barroom. He has a crowded bar with a broken air conditioner totally tuned in to him. He was the truest of troubadours, and he is in his...

They were a great match. Phil also produced 52nd Street, Glass Houses, Songs in the Attic, The Nylon Curtain, An Innocent Man, and The Bridge. Billy said Phil was the most talented guy in his band.

"Homeward Bound" is my favorite song by them, so it's fine by me to choose that one. I also like "The Boxer" version with the added verse. Now the years are rolling by me They are rocking evenly And I am older than I once was And younger than I'll be That's not unusual No, it isn't strange...
