    Personal Finance Advice and Education!

In the L2045 fund, only 7% is invested in the F fund (bonds). Maybe your issue is with the G (treasuries) fund, which is 16% of the portfolio? If I had 20 years left to work, I might not bother with F, definitely not with G yet. If I had 10 years left I'd be thinking about building a...

Do you and your spouse have joint or separate bank accounts?

Separate. We were established adults (i.e. in our 30's) when we got married, had our own lives etc. No need to prove anything by joining our day-to-day finances. And frankly inertia. No kids, so its not like it was rocket surgery to run a household our way. I manage the finances. She's...

The Death/Loss Of Religion In America

Could be some (unintentional) backwards reasoning. Starting with a preferred or intuited conclusion, and then working backwards to find amenable facts.

The Death/Loss Of Religion In America

Based on my observation of current public affairs, I wouldn't say that religion immunizes people or the world from the cray-cray.

Restaurants have gotten so expensive……also recycling and phone apps

San Diego is such a great town. When I'm there in Point Loma for work, we hit Adalbertos on Rosecranz. $5 for a taco, $10 for a burrito. The burrito suffices for two meals, as you might suspect. Mitch's nearby is good. The fish tacos are a little more expensive. The Thai place nearby...

    Talk About Meat Consumption

This salad was simple, it just took a while to clean and chop. Iceberg, spinach, yellow and orange bell pepper, tomato, carrot, garbanzos, black beans, dried cranberries, walnuts.

    Talk About Meat Consumption

My wife has a bum shoulder so I just made the routine Big Salad that the two of us will eat over the course of the next 4 days. It may be healthy, and it may even taste good, but it takes FOREVER to prep.

OFFICIAL - Buying / Selling / Moving Thread

I retire in 2027 and am looking to relocate within the same area (Maryland suburb of DC), We'd like to transition to single-level living. A 2500-3000 square foot renovated rambler would work. I don't have much appetite for building new, or doing a major renovation. Since we have 3 years to...

    Talk About Meat Consumption

For ethical reasons no beef, pork, chicken, eggs, or dairy. Fish and shellfish fall below my arbitrary cutoff line so I do eat those here and there. Gotta eat something. Salads, avocados, various squash, potatoes, beans, bananas, oatmeal, rice, barley, grits, home made bread, olive oil...

*** OFFICIAL *** COVID-19 CoronaVirus Thread. Fresh epidemic fears as child pneumonia cases surge in Europe after China outbreak. NOW in USA

Has Novovax indeed turned out to be more mild than the mRNA vaccines (typically)? My wife is done with the mRNA shots because they put her on the couch for 4 days, but if Novovax is easier to take then I'd like to get her boosted.
