Yes, he was fired. I believe the situation is that his contract had some kind of stipulation that he will continue to be paid for a year after being fired if he does not take another coaching job. I would welcome hearing from someone else who knows more about this.
I don't believe he is able to sign as the head coach of another team until after this season due to his contract with DEN. At least this is what I heard on NFLN.
So pass interference and illegal contact need to also be re-worked? Should ANY contact be PI or Illegal Contact? You know so "discretion" is taken out of the decision making process.
Just to be clear, I didn't start this as a bash Brady/Pats thread. I took issue with Joe basically saying that Manning, Brees, Brady, Palmer should be treated differently than any other QB by the refs.
You can't tell me that Kurt Warner, Tony Romo, Phillip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe...
The "what constitutes a catch" threads would be interesting reads. Seems like the calls have varied the last few weeks. There was one yesterday (forget if it was in the NYGvsNOS game or CHIvsATL, it was the one Hochuli ref'd), but the player got hit and the ball moved out of his hand but was...
Sorry, I didn't see them.I haven't been very active on these forums since I dropped my fantasy teams. I just thought this was an interesting topic for discussion.
In week 4 Terrel Suggs was flagged for going at the knees of Tom Brady in a very close game. In the week 5 "Random Shots" email by Joe Bryant, Joe wrote "And what the rules don't say are just as important: You cannot TOUCH the knees of Tom Brady / Drew Brees / Peyton Manning. And maybe Carson...
It was just an example. It does beg the question though if DWill is a sell high. He is coming off a tremendous year, but how far (if at all) could he stumble? Like was mentioned in the previous post, how much higher could he go? It seems like he can only go down from here. If he is likely to...
I forgot you play through the playoffs. My season ended in week 16 and trading is now open. Whenever you can get to it, that would be great. I wouldn't even mind if it was a post on your blog.I was also thinking that short descriptions for non-obvious states would be helpful. Something...
Who are you looking to move or acquire this offseason?
I am looking for a list something like this:
Deangelo Williams - Hold
LT - Sell
Pierre Thomas - Buy
Mainly looking for players that are ripe for making a move at.
To the contrary, the Chargers O is able to score points and so I think that will force other teams to throw, a lot. I agree though that week 4 is not the week to start any Charger DB.
How similar are the injuries? The reason I ask is that Rivers played in the next game, granted with a brace but he played. Whereas Brady got surgery within a day or 2 of the injury.
I would temper your expectations for 2009. Even though Brady's injury occurred early in the season and he will likely be able to play next season, several QBs who have gone out for a season with ACL injuries were not the same till 2 seasons after the injury.
