Domepatrol's house is located on the eastern edge of the area called Dixon. Fortunately he's on the second floor of a very tall house. It will be close.
This link has elevation maps of the city and neighborhoods. My house is right above the "S" in Tchoupitoulas St. on the Uptown side. I've heard that my house suffered little to no damage from the wind, now it's wait and see if the water does what Katrina didn't.

We New Orleanians don't drink water. We get our moisture through our feet, which keeps the soil dry. Of course, we don't wear shoes to facilitate the moisture intake.
I've seen reports that the Causeway is damaged and that the twin spans to Slidell are badly damaged or gone completely. Can anyone verify this? That means there is only one way into the city now.

Thanks for the info. I saw on nola.com that Napoleon Ave. had extensive wind damage, but I'm not sure what that means. My house is two blocks away on Constance St. It sure would be nice to know if I have a roof.
