    Football 101: Scheme

I think part of my (and other fans') confusion lays in the multiple uses of the term. The above descriptions sounds like overall organizational strategy - how to gain competitive advantage / leveraging core competences. But then I hear a color commentator like Aikmen or Gruden say "that's a...

    Football 101: Scheme

I enjoy football - I watch it, I read about it, I talk about it - but I don't KNOW football. I really only have a cursory knowledge of how the game is played at its highest level. I'm not familiar with the nuance, the detail and the strategy involved. So, I was hoping to use this off season to...

    Reprise your rookie rankings

Knowing what you know now, what does your rookie 12 look like? 1.01 - Eddie Lacy - As a Packer fan, I've watched his camp closely and am excited about his future. As an owner of 1.01 he has shown me enough to hold down the top spot. Barely. 1.02 - Giovanni Bernard - Most knew he would...

    Kids' Fantasy Football

My sons and a few of their buddies (all 6 to 9 years old) have been asking me to help them set up a fantasy football league. I'd very much like to use an all-play format. In other words, any kid can pick any player in any given week, as long as they meet the starting lineup requirements. For...

    2011 Rookie Draft Picks

The spectre of a rookies salary cap is going to propel a ton of college players into the 2010 draft. We know the draft-eligible juniors. But does anyone know if any of the 2011 prospects listed in this thread are actually third year sophomores & thus eligible for the 2010 draft?

    Dynasty Rankings

Love the material. I'm looking for thoughts about two WRs: Kenny McKinley Legedu Nannee McKinley - Highly touted WR coming out of South Carolina. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Spurier said McKinley was the most talented WR he'd ever coached. Brandon Marshall is a free agent...

    Brandon Tate

I'm interested in getting the forum's thoughts on Patriot's rookie WR Brandon Tate. The Pats' personnel director reportedly said Tate may find his way on to the active roster in the coming weeks, seeing time primarily on special teams. This guy has a ton of talent. He was the #1 WR at North...

    Julius Jones v Mourice Morris

So what's the strategy with Jones, particularly in dynasty formats? -Roll with Jones; he's back -Hold one more week in hopes of a big game against the struggling Rams, then trade? -Trade now in hopes of getting some value If trading, what are you getting; hoping to get? I think I'm inclined...

    2009 Rookie Draft Picks

The most significant omission is LESEAN MCCOY from Pitt. He is a future fantasy star: strong, durable, home run speed, a prototypical NFL RB. Reminds one of another great Pitt RB that had a fairly successful NFL career in Dallas. McCoy will be a Sophomore this year - but he went to prep...

    Enough with sleeper wr's...

Don't sleep on Sammy Morris. He is flying way under the radar after the chest injury cut his 2007 short. But he was the more productive of the NE backs when healthy. I also like the Musa Smith call. He was a terror in college and I'm suprised he hasn't made more of an impact in the NFL...

If you don't have one of the top 3 picks in Rook Draft

About a month ago I traded 1.05, Rudi, and Kevin Walter for 1.02. At 1.05, I felt I was on the outside, looking in at the three prizes of the 08 rookie draft. With SJax, Addai and J. Jones on my roster, I felt Rudi was expendable.
