As others have said, if Brady didn't destroy his phone and instead turned it over, and it didn't have the smoking gun...there would be some other thing that Brady should've done to "prove his innocence." And if he would've done that, it'd be another thing, and another. Cuz once a mind is made...
So while I guess the statement "you can't prove a negative" is technically false, the rest of your wiki article goes on to completely make the case that the burden of proof is on the Goodel/Wells side of the argument and not on the Brady side...which is exactly what I was arguing...so...
You called out Brady for not proving his innocence. He doesn't have the ability to do that any more than I can prove that it wasn't me orchestrating deflategate. That's all I'm saying. Proving innocence, without an alibi, can't be done. That's why it's on the NFL to prove guilt.
I'm not denying...
Ugh. Guys....you can't prove a negative. You cant prove something didn't happen. Go ahead and prove definitively once and for all that Santa isn't real. See?
Proving guilt as opposed to proving innocence isn't just a precedence in criminal trials...its logic.
What about McCLellin? Is he the better bet at ILB for fantasy production? Who to own of the two? Fangio's system seems prime for ILB production, so maybe both?
As a pats fan I fully expect Goodell to uphold the suspension and stick with 4 games. Simply because Goodell has to look out for Goodell and reducing the suspension would damage his already fragile credibility. So when the verdict comes down the same, I'll basically shrug and yawn.
Instead of Goodell spending the next several days reviewing all the 'new' info or whatever to determine whether to reduce Brady's punishment based on his apparent guilt or innocence...he's going to spend the next several days deciding whether to reduce Brady's punishment based on how it will...
There were reports (sorry no links) that when Wells first met with the pats, they were expecting Wells to help them uncover who has been trying to railroad them. Baltimore? Indy? Then they realized Wells wasn't there to exonerate the pats, he was there to find a smoking gun. Hence leading to the...
For the same reason that you would shout innocence from the rooftops and fight to the last man if you were convicted of a crime that you either A. Were innocent of...or B. Truly believed you were innocent of due to being ignorant of the crime.Again...Sure,the pats could have acted with more...
If the pats knew and believed they were guilty, then admitting it may have been the wiser move.
However, they may truly believe they are innocent. Tom Brady is certainly still taking that line. The evidence of deflated balls has basically lost a ton of credibility since the wells report, and...
I agree with this in a vacuum. However, we have to account for what you get back in Trade. If it's just a early/mid first or so, then yeah, probably better to keep. If you can get a haul of young prospects and picks (obj before the breakout types), then sell for sure. The only issue I am raising...
