  1. Castro look better at the plate then he has all year.
  2. Even for the final wildcard and only 4 games back of the Pirates.
  3. Following the team this year has been entertaining. All of the talk has swayed from definitely playoff bound to not this year after every streak of good or bad play. On team with so many young hitters, the streakiness had to be expected.
  4. The biggest disappointment is Castro. He doesn't look comfortable at the plate at all. Fowler is right behind him. While Lester isn't looking like an ace so far and the pickoff situation is a joke, his numbers are actually pretty good. I am not too worried about him. He has pitched a couple years already without throwing to first. These professional mind blocks are incomprehensible. I don't think Soler is looking lost at the plate. He has had a fair number of horrible strike calls against him and he also has rocketed the ball into a ton of outs. He hasn't found a comfort zone yet but
  5. Why not just put him in a corner outfield spot? They seem determined to develop him as a catcher. And there isn't a hole in a corner outfield spot. Solar will be back soon and Coghlan has been a good player. Despite his start, there is no reason to think Schwarber will be anything but a league average hitter at this point and the Cubs already possess that quality at every position he could play. Barring another injury, he will be catching at Iowa next week. And everything I am reading is very optimistic he could be enough of a catcher to take advantage of the hitter he could be at the posit
  6. If Boub prefers this route I could help with caretaking.Sure. I do want to be in this league but my time is torn apart now. There is a good chance I can return in 2016 after I get really used to the full time/over time in my career now. A boubcheese owner partner team is completely fine with me. I can help cheese this year sometimes and then be a half/half owner in 2016.
  7. Received. I am so sorry for the delay. I won't go deep into the backstory but I am teaching again after a long health issue prevented full time work. Particularly at the school I am currently working, I just don't have a ton of free time to devote myself to this league to the standard it deserves. Best of luck to everyone.
  8. I am fine but my life now is super busy. I will drop out of this league but I will send Spartan pay for 2014 and 2015 this week.
  9. She is still going strong and down to the 150's. She has held her weight in the 150's through the winter despite a back injury that has prevented her from consistent exercise almost all winter. I still have every expectation that she will continue her effort. She doesn't have a specific weight in mind but I think she will know when she is in her sweet spot. I am very proud of her. It has not been easy for her. Just wanted to update a positive update of a similar but very different situation to the OP. They identified her back injury as a herniated disc that was pushing on her nerve resulti

  11. I am not really salivating. The lineup will likely be the Cubs reality next September barring injury. By next spring Baez and Bryant will have no reason to be in the minors aside from saving future dollars. Soler and Russell will be in AAA for 400+ PA's by Sept 1 next year if they aren't already at Wrigley. Certainly most of these hitters will struggle when called up and some of them may never make the adjustments to be average starters. Any Cubs fan assuming the offense will improve with the youngsters could be in for a rude awakening. The exciting aspect is finally being able to watch
  12. Alcantara is staying up for good. Soler has been promoted to AAA and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him in September since he is already on the 40 man. Almora has been promoted to AA since he has been on fire for over a month now (after a terrible start). At this point they are all still prospects. But at least we will be watching with some interest at a ton of young talent by next summer. All that is holding Baez and Bryant back until then is how the Cubs handle the extra year and super 2 status. By the end of next year the Cubs should be sinking or swimming with Castillo (28), Rizzo
  13. All I would worry about with Arrieta is the increase use of that nasty slider and its affect on the health of his elbow. Otherwise, legit.
  14. He's not getting sent down until the 22nd for sure. Per Carrie Muskat: #Cubs decide to keep Alcantara for now and Hendricks optioned to Iowa Cubs won't need Hendricks because of the all star game. It will be interesting to see if he stays at 2B or gets some CF time. He looked like he belonged.
