  1. if you are narrow minded and compartmentalize these things then yeah it's no big deal. But when you look at the big picture and open your mind it's a rather easy situation to see.He should get 10 paddles to his bare behind and then stand in the corner for 15 minutes. I certainly will not condone young adults posting vines of themselves doing nothing wrong. This. I get that there are a ton of people that are ready to pile on the kid, but this video is a complete non issue. Manziel is by no means perfect, and has had a couple of hiccups along the way. He still needs to mature, but this video i
  2. The only thing the detractors can use at this stage for Manziel is the attitude/discipline issues. I would agree that he may be a bit of wild card in that aspect, but I would venture to guess that he is/was no more so than Cam Newton and Winston. If you look at his body of work I would say he has made giant steps and is exactly what you would hope out of a young first round qb. He was no where near ready in year 1 and looked lost. In year 2 he has not been perfect, but his play is trending up greatly. He is showing he can throw from the pocket, although he is still finding ways of using his
  3. Seattle's now has 8 wins and 5 losses. Their last 2 games have played out with a 38-7 win and a 35-6 win. They also have won 4 games in a row and are starting to resemble the team that went to back to back Super bowls. For anyone to come in here and claim that if Johnny Manziel has a good game against this team and then point to Seattle being 19th ranked pass defence is laughable on so many accounts and is actually false! Statistically speaking Seattle are the 2nd best Defence in the entire NFL behind only Denver. They are giving up only 18.1 points per game. Carolina for a reference who are
  4. The Niners are terrible and on their second multi-timezone trip in a row. Probably not worth trying to draw any conclusions on where he's at from this one game. That seems silly. People ridiculed his number vs Pitt and now SF for this type of reasoning. So the only way we can judge Manziel in his 6th start is if he plays top 5 defenses?
  5. And? What do we think of today's effort? One ill advised throw on the int, but all around seems to be making progress.
  6. JuniorNB, You are setting it up where no matter what Manziel does this week it won't be enough. If he does well you will play the he only did it because it was against the 27th ranked defence. You will follow that up by let's see what he does vs a real defence in Seattle.
  7. I'd ask this question: what difference does it really make, to the Browns, if/how well Manziel can actually play QB? They already know what they have: an immature, unprofessional, unfocused, possible addict that they can't trust. If they give him some meaningless starts here at the end of 2015, and he plays well, then what? Is the trust going to be magically re-established? Are they suddenly going to feel comfortable with him being the starting QB and the face of the franchise? If the answer is no (and I think that it is), then there's no more "seeing what you have" left to do. The differe

  9. At least JFF does not have to play that Cincy D. In the end this is a lose for everybody. Pettine, the browns organization, and JFF. As someone who has no ties to the organization I will just sit back and observe this train wreck. The boo birds will be out in full force as Davis struggles mightily this week.
  10. I would love to know what was said to JF prior to the bye week. I know it was mentioned that Johnny said he would not do anything detrimental to the team. With 5 days off I don't know how detrimental going to party is for a couple of nights even with JF's track record. Look JF has some major growing up to do and if he lied about how old the video was that is just dumb, but the partying in the first place with 5 days off is minor in the grand scheme of things even with his track record and even at his position as a qb. The Brown's had nothing to lose starting JF going forward to finish off th
  11. The concerning thing is that he relapsed and thinks (evidently) that it is no big deal. You have not been around addicts much have you? It is called denial and I am going to guess he knows it is a big deal, but this is what happens when the walls start crumbling in on you. You turn to denial and acting like it is no big deal. I am assuming he knows it is a big deal, because he has already been to rehab once (checked himself in). That is a sign that he at least has acknowledged there are some issues at hand. What has to happen is continuously working on his issues whatever those might be. Addic
  12. Anyone that knows anything about alcoholism or any addiction knows there are relapses. The concerning thing is the domestic stuff. Who knows how serious things got with his gf in that car. Manziel obviously still has a lot of work to do here, but like any addict he will need help.
  13. Didn't we just see? Are you implying that he's going to do great things NEXT game? How do you envision this working? So far, he hasn't shown anything to prove he's better than back-up material. This "see what they have" stuff has been tried 5-6 times already. Yeah, but you KNOW McCown isn't the long term answer. Manziel, ehhh... If they go back to McCown, then you're still sitting on a "probably not, but maybe" in Manziel a year from now. I personally wouldn't have invested a 1st rounder in the guy, but that horse already left the barn. Might as well see what Maziel can do with all of the
  14. I'd prefer they sit him for the year and try again with some skill help next year. Playing time is valuable. You can draft skill guys regardless and he will be a year more seasoned to work with them.
  15. he completed 8 passesIt was a very conservative game plan for Cleveland after getting the big lead early. Johnny only had 17 attempts and I think 3 of them were throw aways. He had a 133.9 QB rating. Manziel was not asked to do a ton but definitely made a couple of great throws. Tough for anyone to question his arm strength at this stage as he has more than enough to make all throws especially those big ones down the field to keep a D honest. All around Manziel had a very good game and will only get more comfortable with playing time. There is no way McCown makes that 2nd TD throw on the rol
  16. i didn't get to watch the game, but by all accounts he did well. and they got the win.looking forward to actually watching him do it again. still have concerns about his playing style and how long it can be viable. His playing style so far has been different then I expected. He is getting outside the pocket and throwing down field as opposed to scrambling. That is a positive.
  17. Looks like people were getting scared off this summer like the targets were not going to be there. As I said this summer, Manning is who he is and will throw the ball. Sanders owners can rest easy as he will have a very good year.
  18. Really a stretch to say it is much of a significance either way. The two are eerily similar across the board in body types.
  19. I met Wilson right after he was drafted and he seemed huge for his size - looked like a SS. Manziel needs to hit the weights and put on at least 10 lbs. to survive in the league. Really? Manziel 207 lbs Wilson 204 lbs
  20. Yeah. Again, in the regular season vs the #1's he will get killed. Sounds a lot like people who doubted R. Wilson time and again.Wilson doesn't rely on his speed to be effective tho. That's what made Johnny special.....in college. Wilson relies on both. Being a runner and being good in the pocket. Wilson 4.55 forty time. Manziel 4.56 forty time.

  22. He keeps on progressing which very nice to see. Still a lot left to show, but he is making some big strides in comparison to last year. Also, it is tough to doubt his arm strength after his throw on the run this evening.
