  1. Watching the game it really is great that his speed and elusiveness pop off the screen like it did in college. His vision and ability to properly read angles and blockers on both the TD run as well as the way he turned the corner on that screen pass to get long yardage was very good. His game is so versatile that I just don't see much downside to him and obviously he has a very high ceiling. He is as good as advertised.
  2. Gore is still going to get touches and Turbin was rated as one of the top running back blockers last year. The Mack train will have to wait another year for sure.
  3. I think Kelley can again fall into sleeper and underrated category. There are tons of people dismissing Kelley for Perine already. Kelley has already proven as a rookie that he can play at the NFL level and although he won't run away from anyone he was reliable at churning out yards and more importantly protecting the football. I think it would have been more worrisome had the Redskins drafted or brought in someone other than Perrine. I actually think the way the draft played out it was a vote of confidence for Kelley. Sure Perine was drafted to push Kelley, but the Redskins were always going to take a rb in the draft somewhere as they needed a back up to Kelley. I mean the Steelers spend a 3rd on Connor to back up Bell. There was 8 rb's taken in the NFL draft prior to the selection of Perine.
  4. Ya, I guess I could have clarified that it I am in 2 qb leagues.
  5. With the Browns selecting Kizer, what will Kessler have to do to remain the starter for this season? Beyond this season? This was an anytlical article on Kessler pre draft which shows by all metrics and comparisons that he had a good rookie year. http://rotoviz.com/2017/04/browns-quarterback-cody-kessler/?utm_content=bufferf1d52&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer I am curious what type of value this guy has in dyansty if any at all?
  6. He spent all off season working out and getting ready for a huge load. This guy does not just want to be good, he wants to be great. He reached out to workout with Adrian Peterson this off season. If Gordon was old or coming off 4 plus years, maybe over worked would come into play, but he is capable of handling this type of a load.
  7. Some where so quick to write Gordon off. This guy is proving to be an elite all around back and looks the part. Congrats to all that bought him cheap while you could.
  8. He looked really good vs a very tough D. SD should have given him the ball on Devner 2 multiple times but they did not. 4 passes and no TD. Feed your TD machine back. Regardless, still almost 160 yards and looked really good doing it. He is turning into a such a complete back. For everyone bought low in dynasty good on you. He is who SD thought he could be when they picked him in the 1st round.
  9. Guy looks good and is converting well on short yardage runs both when they need it for first downs and td's. He is not getting much in the way of holes from that O line, but he is doing a good job taking what is there, even if it's a 3 yard run up the gut. Coaches appreciate those runs as opposed to trying to bounce every single play. He looks improved in all facets of the game and the team is feeding their work horse rb. Fantasy owners should rejoice and ride this train. There are very few situations like this anymore. Take it and be happy you have him.
  10. I am starting him over Fuller who has a tough match up vs Denver.
  11. Guys that put up stats like Hill did all of last year and through 2 games this year get phased out of offenses pretty quickly if that trend continues. You have highlighted he has scored td's which is nice and all and which may take a certain skill set to be elite at but you can find other players that started out scoring td's and became nothing more than back ups and or just became guys. Trent Richardson had 11 as a rookie, Brandon Jacobs had 16 his first 2 years, Alfred Morris had 20 through his first 2 years and it looks as though Hill is trending towards those career paths at this stage in time. Outside of Hill scoring TD's can you explain what Hill has done through the last 18 games that should have anyone excited about him moving forward? I may be wrong and he may starting playing better but as of right now he really does not look very good.
  12. Started slow last year? Did he every get better? I am talking about actual NFL ability vs fantasy and even then you are being generous. I pointed out the TD's because he would have had even more crappy games than he had last year due to punching in some td's which saved some weeks. His year end stats ended up looking better than they were in fantasy due to those TD's. When he was scoring some of those td's I am assuming he was on peoples benches because he was putting up so many clunkers that people stopped playing him. He had 223 carries last year and finished with a minuscule 794 yards, which was good enough for 18th in total rushing yards. There was 8 rbs that had more yards than him with less carries. He also was not able to create big plays and or catch passes. It could be argued he was one of the bottom 5 starting rbs in the NFL last year. I know a lot of the footballguys staff were drooling over Hill and that rookie year. He is the second best RB on his team and Hill is again off to a slow/normal start? Regardless Cincy looks much better with Gio as the guy or at least as the guy who should garner more touches.
  13. All rb's get hurt. Big rb's, small rb's, medium sized rb's. Injuries are most times just bad luck.
  14. Buy low? He was awful last year but was fortunate enough to get some td's to make his year look better than it was. He really looks bad going on 2 years in a row.
  15. This guy stinks. Somehow Cincy continue to try to get him involved. Cincy would be a much better team if they just moved away from Hill and made Gio the guy there. Hill looks like a back up NFL rb. He is slow to the holes, has no burst and can't make a guy miss. He had a good run 2 years as a rookie in the second half, but he is looking more like a Trent Richardson clone.
  16. This could be a blessing in disguise for SD as they are forced to use Gordon as not only the primary guy but the every down guy and his dual threat ability will be on display moving forward. He seems like he will be a guy that will get better with more touches and being used in all facets of the game. I do hate seeing this with Woodhead though as he worked his way as an underdog RB, into one of the premier receiving backs in the game.
  17. I have no idea what to think with this team. A couple of thoughts though. Last year they were 8-8 which is ok. Rex tends to get some things right and some other things wrong this much we know. I don't know if it was the defensive scheme was a problem vs the Jets or was it the WR's just flat out beat up on the Bills secondary? It also looked like Fitz had a ton of time and or confidence to just chuck the ball to his receivers and let them make plays. The offense was not good in the game despite them scoring 24 points. They did not sustain any long drives and the only things that were positive was Taylor making plays as opposed to considering good offensive coordinating. Last week the offense let them down in a game they probably should have won. Roman seemed to struggle to get Sammy involved enough ever in his time as the coordinator; that is embarrassing from any coordinator who needed to make him the priority. Game 1 he did not do it and game 2 he did not do it. I get Watkins was slightly hurting this passed week but he was playing and looked adequate enough to make some plays. They lost to a good Jets team at home and lost to a who knows what type of Ravens team on the road. I really have no idea who the Bills are.
  18. Gordon is the superior back to Woodhead and it is not really close. Woodhead is a proven 3rd down receiving back that has a role. If the Chargers planning on being successful post Allen injury then need to allow Gordon to be more of a factor. Woodhead has proven to be a back up running back in the NFL that is a very good receiving back. There was a couple of holes in that last game that Woodhead was running through and getting to the second level that had it been Gordon it may have been bigger gains. Gordon is bigger, stronger and faster. They oddly switched more to Woodhead in the 2nd half with the lead. There is/was no need to give Woodhead more rushing attempts than Gordon, that was just poor coaching. Woodehead has played 8 seasons in the NFL and has averaged 5.1 rushing attempts per game. Heck even his time in SD(the last 3 years) he has averaged 5.9 rushing attempts per game for a whopping 3.3 ypc. There was no need to give Woodhead 16 attempts in that game when you were up multiple scores and your prized 1st round pick from last year was having himself a game. For those who were not watching Gordon looked really good hitting holes hard, taking what was given to him and being patient when he needed to be. This is not a hit on Woodhead who as I acknowledged played well, but SD will not be successful if Woodhead is playing more snaps than Gordon.
  19. I am confused. Yeldon averaged 4.1 ypc as a rookie. He had a bad week no doubt, but so did Gurley, Elliot and countless others.
  20. A couple of thoughts. I was able to watch most of the game. The SD O line is much improved. This will be good for Gordon and Woodhead. Woodhead did get a ton of snaps and looked good. Gordon also looked good. Gordon is not going to end the year with 0 receptions here either guys. He will get worked into the passing game at least some. This at times will be a frustrating season. Gordon looks vastly better all be it a small sample size and should hopefully be worked in as the guy getting lion share of the work and Woodhead as more of 3 down COP guy. The issue will be when Chargers are playing from behind it could spell very limited snaps for Gordon which will suck.
  21. The O line was shockingly bad. He barely had time to make anything happen. Run game suffered as well. Taylor just needs to throw the ball to Watkins a lot more than he did and good things will happen as was the case back half of last year. Jets are going to roll over Bills next week if they don't somewhat fix the O line issues.
  22. So nothing about how Peterson and Gurley arguably 2 of the top RB's in the game having plenty of games with crappy YPC?
  23. This is ridiculous. You need to delve into stats more closely before making such a silly comment. Go and look at Peterson's game logs from last year. Peterson had almost 1500 yards rushing. He had 7 of his 16 games where he averaged 3.5 ypc or less in a game. Therefore almost half the time Peterson was not that good by your standards. Go and look at Todd Gurley's game logs. He played in 12 games last year. In 4 of those 12 games he did not have a ypc higher than 2.6 yards. In 2 other games he had a 3.8 ypc game and a 3.7. Therefore in 6 of his 12 games he averaged 3.8 ypc are worse and 4 of those games were absolute stinkers. So what you are failing to see is RB's even the great ones don't consistently put up 4.4 ypc every week. The issue with Gordon was he was not having any games to help his ypc by having big weeks. So far this preseason it looks more promising. Part of what made Gordon an intriguing prospect coming out of college was his ability to break long runs. Guess what? In two preseason games this year he has broken off long runs for TD's. One on a pass and one rushing. Who knows, maybe Rivers audibles to the right play this year on multiple occasions. You are giving Gordon a back handed compliment by saying he showed great speed and looked impressive only to following it up with essentially giving Rivers the credit and even going as far as saying he did not have to do anything except run through a big hole. Did you trade Gordon away this off season and are regretting the decision? That is the only thing that I can think of.
