  1. Speaking of draws...will Hank win one today? 0-7 I think it's like 14-6 for the game. They aren't winning if that continues.1-4 in offensive zone, 3-9 in defensive zone......uh, at least they haven't scored directly off of the faceoff again....yet
  2. shtick? guy's normally been the opposite of class in the past. He's a great mentor and he's been good to the fans in Detroit. I was piled on in last years thread for making a similar statement. The perception of him is obviously different outside of the D.
  3. :coffee:You can't deny it, he was 30 year old Lidstrom tonight. We share the same birthday, although I'm a little younger and not quite the skater. Tonight. Still 1-2 steps slower than I'm used to seeing him but it was much less evident tonight. Let's hope this second wind lasts another 3 serieseses. Great game DD!
  4. Hope you were watching tonight, I'm guessing you were. NicLid was really, really good tonight. Love Miller, Helm and Eaves working on the PK. They really bring a ton of energy and Helm saved a goal to boot. Huge win, they needed to win this game. I stopped myself 3-4 times from bumping this same post over the last 2 games saying "see there, he's in trouble". I'll just have to agree to disagree as the last thing in the world I want after a 4-1 W is to get in a disagreement with a fellow Wing fan that our captain does or does not look good. 3-2 lead Detroit, let's end this series on Sunday
  5. Game logs say he was +1 over that time period, and +7 since January 11th. I agree they looked really flat today but you also have to credit the Yotes. They take advantage of lackluster play better than probably anyone as proof from all their comebacks all year long. I asked for the Coyotes in the 1st round, and even though I still think the Wings will win, Coyotes are for real with great goaltending and quite a bit of speed. If Doan is lost for any amount of time I think they are in trouble though, Wings will win games 4 and 6.If you were looking at ESPN, they had him as a -1 today but he was actually a -3, and is -1 since 2/11. Given a +19 goal differential over that time period and the amount of minutes (especially PP) that he logs, that number is shocking to me. I would have guessed +7 or more. Anyways, enough about old #5, time will tell, I hope he bounces back strong. Huge kudos to Phx, they've played well, especially impressive today minus Doan for 2 periods, as he'd been very, very physical/disruptive. Lately I've noticed that the defense (except Kronwall) are back on their heels alot coming into their own zone, backing down into the circle and allowing pretty high percentage shots from the slot, didn't notice it much before the playoffs. Ton of time to get things straightened out, I still like our chances.
  6. DD, from 2/11 through today, Detroit outscored opponents 85-66 and #5 was a -1. Very surprising, and quite telling, imo. I couldn't agree more on your point, Detroit MUST have somebody step up. Abdelkader was a nice little source of energy last game but I didn't see it today. Just didn't see any urgency today period, very disappointing.
  7. You don't watch the Wings very much do you? Nothing he could do about the 3rd goal, Howard should have been out further to cut off the angle. Coyotes just outplaying them today and Howard is not very stellar. This worried me near the end and I thought Osgood should get more time just in case Howard looked meh early. Now it's Howard or bust, and he's been pretty crappy today along with the whole Wings D. Haven't missed a game all season. You're correct, nothing he could do about the 3rd goal. Have you watched him in this game? This series?? The last 2 months??? If you answered yes and feel he's not in a decline...I'm sorry for your inability to see the deterioration. Hurts to say it, hurts bad.Yeah I watch every game. He was great over the last two months, and finished 7th in plus/minus in the NHL along with leading the Wings in ice time once again. He was not good the first part of the year, he was the same old Lidstrom the final few months (lots of articles both local and national agree). He's gonna be 40 next week, so he's not going to get any better. But you are acting like he's fallen off a cliff, that's ridiculous. it's interesting to hear another person that watched every game feel that he was great. Most casual and die hard Wings fans alike are quick to say this. Perhaps he deserves the free pass. I'm both a die hard fan and an ex-player that played through college and major junior hockey, and I see it totally differently. The guy is a legend, the best defenseman of the last decade +, but I just don't know how anyone can say he looked great over the last 2 months. Did you think he looked great today? That's not a fair question...do you think he held his own? You touched on plus/minus, so let's go there for a second. Please, without looking it up, please tell me what you think his +/- is since 2/11 (final 2 months of regular season + playoffs), keeping in mind that Detroit was the hottest team in the league.

  9. Bet everything that you have on Arizona getting the opening kickoff. Then move on.
  10. where did you see this?Shark Scope. I was wondering this, too. I've noticed those kinds of numbers even after players have won big tournaments like the Sunday Million. Just a hunch, but I believe that if you pay for the service they may take lengths to shield your stats? Most successful poker players probably wouldn't want the IRS to have a record of hundreds of thousands in wins? Just a hunch.I'd rather have a record that said I lost $30,000 than I won $200,000.On Full Tilt (and I assume P'stars), there is a difference between Sit & Go's and Tourneys. Assani has been playing tourney's, and not the sit n go's that Sharkscope is showing the $30k loss on. Of course, I could be wrong on all counts, looking forward to AF's response.
  11. Assani, I just looked up your Sit-N-Go numbers and saw that you had lost $29,833 in SnG's. I also noticed that you virtually stopped playing (at least under your main SN) in mid 2007. My question for you is, do you find SnG's to be nearly impossible to consistently be profitable? I've tried my hand at SNG's with very little success. What I am perplexed about is your ability to cash in these larger tourneys but an apparent inability to cash in SnG's in which I assume there is a smaller field? Or has your play just really come around since mid 2007, or are the numbers that I see complete rubbish? This is not at all an attack on you nor your play, you are obviously on top of the world at the moment, but I am attempting to get a better grip on this crazy game of poker and trying to figure out WTF happened here. Thanks and keep those Icy Pots coming!
  12. Fellas, I need comforting immediately...the old DONT CASH OUT or you will lose theory...playing at Doyle's, cash out $1500 on Sunday. I lose $800 on Monday, 1 pocket ace hand and 2 pocket queen hands...today I lose $900 on BACK TO BACK AA hands. Playing $3/6, raised to $36 pre flop on the AA hands and $24 on the QQ hands...I lost 5 consecutive hands of QQ or greater, in consecutive days after cashing out. Seriously, WTF.
  13. First let me say that I am clueless...Ok now that that has been established, I purchased a $130k home in the metro Detroit area at the age of 18. I put $20K down and my mortgage was a 5 year ARM. My rate was in the neighborhood of 6.7%. My mortgage has been sold 3 times and I am now with Chase. I began paying aproximately $750 per month. My monthly payment has continued to rise and rise due to " a shortfall in escrow balance" and has somehow managed to reach nearly $1k (on a $110k mortgage) which includes taxes (does this sound right????). I just got a notice that my 5 year ARM has expired and that my new rate will be 7.85% and my monthly payment is $1,037 with $95,500 remaining on the loan. What are my options and/or what can I do about this? Thank you kindly!
