  1. What would have impressed you yesterday? Apple hit the mark on nearly every expectation. What exatly were you expecting?3G. True GPS. Enterprise support. Office compatibility. Cheaper up-front cost. Launch of 3rd-party Apps. OS refinements (mass move and delete email, contact search, parental control restrictions). The only omission that sticks out to me it the 'copy/paste' issue. But I do think it will be included in a software update eventually. Maybe even by the July release. Yes, I was hoping for video conferencing, but that's more for cool-factor than anything. SMS delivery and acceptance of photos would be nice too....
  2. Adobe has committed to working with Apple to integrate flash on the iPhone, but the software development kit was insufficient for them to develop flash for the iphone. So, they have gone from a declarative "there will be flash for the iphone" to a less committed "if Apple will work with us, there will be flash for the iPhone."
  3. I asked the same thing earlier. I think this is one of the greatest drawbacks to the phone - and apparently a lot of other people do too - so I would bet if Apple doesn't address it, a third party app will for sure....
  4. They are nearly sold out. I'll sell you mine - make an offer.
  5. I haven't seen anything about texting - any word whether pictures will be able to be sent and received through text? (I have a couple little friends that take some great shots they are happy to text/send...but for whatever reason are recluctant to email them)
  6. I am in the "I want the 3rd Party Applications" camp. From what I have heard other 3G phones suck the battery like there is no tomorrow, and this after claims from the manufacturer of longer battery life. The only reason I can see going to the 3G (if the new apps are as cool as they sound) is to get Slingbox compatability.
  7. Glad it worked out for you....never really heard a report....
  8. where is this located?About a block north of Flamingo on Paradise....it's good...but you have to cab it there unless you have a car. Plenty of good steak places on the strip.
  9. If by pay you mean grease a buddy $20 to get in a club without standing in a line - yeah, I do that. If by not approve, you mean I roll my eyes that people travel all the way to Vegas to spend time in dumps with talent that is "sub-sub", then yeah, I do...but understand some people are more comfortable in that sorta environment.Glad you had a good time. Way to be selective about what I posted. You have been annointed the king of that end of the strip in my eyes. I defer to you. I only answered that which was directed.I mean it when I say I'm glad you had a good time. I paid nothing to jump the line getting into the Cathouse. $20 tip to jump the line and get into Moon and the Playboy Club. Zero to get into Spearmint. That said, I am pretty sure I paid more for drinks than you had to. But to me, a bit more for amenities is worth it.....

  11. The shirt sucks....the song is really cute - and not just for kids.....if you are looking for a nice little sumpthin' to give to a SO for Valentines day - the song she sent me would be perfect. And afterwards, you can get in the car and run down to Cafe and Play or whatever it is called and have a beautiful candlelit dinner....
  12. Suzanne at Melodies made a post offering a free song - I emailed and had the song in my email box 23 minutes later! Most awesome. I'm not saying anything....I'm just sayin.....
  13. bump for chat - will post :e:lsewhere also
  14. You can convince yourself you aren't cheating and if you convince yourself, it must be true.not sure what you are talking about here.getting groups to vote for us like this message board is what we are supposed to be doing. they sent us "promotion ideas" and this is exactly what they had in mind. I have not read the entire thread. I am sure it has been previously explained. Having "strangers" vote for you as opposed to voting for what they truly believe is the best business concept with the best chance of long term success skews the voting (obviously) and the best proposed business doesn't end up winning. Had you posted a thread that told about the contest and didn't solicit votes but encouraged people to view all the vids and choose the business they felt had the best long term chance for success or had the best, most well thought out concept that would be of benefit to a community etc...that would have been more fair. Here is a hint for anyone who wants to do this next year - go to that site that ranks forums by members, traffic, page views etc.....pick one in the top 5. Join. Establish yourself as a known member of that community over the next year. When this contest ramps up again next year, enter and then have your board win the contest for you. ETA: FUNNY! I personally KNOW one of the judges. Not a good friend, but a good friend of mine is in an extremely influential with said judge. I am confident I could have influence if I shared what was going on here. But that would be cheating. -4-,We talk with the intuit people on a daily basis. What we are doing is very much what they want. The packet they sent was full of "Social Marketing" tips of how to get the word out. The people at Intuit already know that I have recruited some message boards to vote for me. I spoke with Kira and Sharna (their publicity person) about it and they encouraged it. Sharna was interviewed along with my wife in a conference call by the local paper which wrote an article promoting our idea and encouraged people to vote for us. To make the assumption that what we are doing is wrong is ABSOLUTELY YOUR OPINION, TO WHICH YOU ARE ENTITLED . Feel free to talk to your judge friend. Write to Kira at intuit. The Intuit people read my blog daily and receive my daily email updates about the contest so we have been crystal clear with them and I am not worried at all that they would have any problem with us asking people to vote for us. I am not forcing you to vote for me. I just posted here asking for votes. Just like when I was at the mall this weekend handing out fliers to over 400 people - I was just asking them to vote for me which is what Intuit had in mind with this contest. fixed. And for the record, while you have been throwing out an occasional "please - one vote per person" response, clearly that has been violated (ex. SIDA). It is my opinion you found a crack in the system and are taking advantage of it. That is why I gave the "hint" on how to beat anyone trying this next year. Find a bigger board that will carry more weight. Join and actively participate at http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/index.php - 11,000,000 registered users.....you would crush the competition. ETA - They even have a TEST FORUM! :gasp: Wrong. I did watch the other videos. I thought all 5 were bad. Sorry Skippy. I would go for the child care or CD one before I would send $40,000 in cash and $10K in resources to a restaurant that will be doomed to failure almost regardless of location. Once again, sorry Skippy. I really am not trying to be a downer here - just realistic. A couple of these ideas have a better chance at succeeding. I think that is where the money should go.

You assume that the FBG's community haven't viewed the videos or decided for ourselves. I did view and as I keep writing on the official blog, aderouch's concept is clearly the best concept. Thus I am voiting for him. As Foosball God wrote above, I believe our board members did view the videos and were equally impressed with aderouch's business concept. Impugning an entire group of people (Footballguys, persons of one ethnicity or another, persons of one gender or another) is known as bigotry, _4___. Also, impugning Skippy's integrity is equally inappropriate. I've seen him post here for many, many years as a moderator and I've never once had to warn him for an inappropriate post or for starting a flame war. Trust me, that is a good indicator of a person of high character, in my opinion. Please stop disrupting this thread with your attempts to start a flame war. TIA, MW Your idea of what bigotry is, is absolutely over the top ridiculous. Your "impuging" me for posting an opinion on skewing a contest is equally ridiculous. I am not now, nor have I ever on this board, solicited a "flame war". I have my opinion and I shared it. If it goes against the grain, that does not make it intentionally inflammatory, only a different opinion. If it cuts that close to the vein for you, perhaps you have to look inward. Sorry.

I am confident I could have influence if I shared what was going on here. But that would be cheating. You don't think they can find their own link to this thread?I can absolutely guarantee that most, if not all, of the contestants have used the "go here to vote for me" to solicit votes. Either on a message board, through an email, by phone or at work. If they have actually suggested networking and did not include a message about doing 'neutral' networking or have a rule against it in the fine print, then "go here to vote for me" is absolutely fair game. As long as each vote (per day) is coming from a unique person. I suspect that over 90% of the people going to that site are going to vote for a specific candidate and not going there to figure out who to vote for.Count me in the 10%.

  19. I haven't listened for a long time. I have listened the last two days....1983 and 1985. Holy #### the constant clapping clip they play is annoying. I don't remember that from when I listened over the past decade.
  20. Yeah....I've learned a lot during the 4 or so years I've done this...wasn't very smart at all at first, but I've grown up a lot. Do you play at all at any of the casinos? If so let me know and maybe we'll meet up sometime.Very good friend is one of the people that deals/runs the room at the Wynn. I don't play cards - I only play Video Poker - win a lot - bummer is a lot of W-2s, but that isn't a bad tradeoff for a pocketful of cash.side bar - is there a good video poker book to get? No.I if you want to know how/what to play, PM me your email, I have put the "system" to paper (well, a word .doc).ETA: Several people have asked for the "lesson" - I need your email.

  22. Good luck. Having been here 12 years, I know several people who have done/are doing what you are attempting. Not an easy way to make a living - stay level.
  23. Did you ever get a job in Vegas, or are you just playing poker?
