  1. I need one of these to appear in my teenager's room!!!
  2. I learned my lesson when I was 27 years old. I was in a big hurry to get to work because I had a meeting, was running late and I woke up late. So, I'm doing like 70+ in a 55, I go around a corner and *bam* there's a state highway patrol officer waiting there with a radar gun and he lit 'em up. So, he pulls me over and said "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Like an IDIOT, I said "Yes, because I was speeding." He said "How fast do you think you were going?" I said "approximately 70 is my best guess knowing full well I was doing closer to 80 than 70. And he said "Okay, great, so that's not why I pulled you over. I pulled you over for an expired tag but since you volunteered that you were speeding and the rate of speed, I'm going to write you up for two tickets today." And by God he did, I got two tickets that day. So for the last 25 years when they ask "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS say "No sir, I have absolutely no idea!" I've even been baited before. One time the officer pulled me over and he said "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I said "No sir." He said "seriously, you have no idea? What did you think when you were in the passing lane passing everyone else up?" I said "I thought that I was using the proper lane, the passing lane, to pass everyone else up, was I not supposed to do that?"
  3. I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact, I agree with you 100% it's just that without watching all 45 minutes of all that, I learned the exact same thing from a 3 minute Tom Segura routine : https://youtu.be/0kM7aXofMC4?t=241 . . . and everyone who either suffers from a bit of ADD or you're just too lazy (like me) to watch that whole thing PlayaHata posted. . . you're welcome!
  4. Thank you very much for the response and recommendation. Unfortunately, as I'm sure you're probably already aware, this is pretty much sold out everywhere. Hopefully, this whole wonky supply chain issue will get resolved or reconciled soon!
  5. I like the CheapAudioMan channel on YouTube. I just stumbled upon this over the weekend. I think he has a sub $500 system he recommends but here's the $350 or less video which I watched : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkIjvasMAA8 My thing is, is that I have an odd situation. Originally, I had a stereo only setup in my office along with an oversized L shape desk. Then, about 3 years ago or so our main Sony TV in our living room failed. I really loved the picture on that TV, it's an old LCD Sony but I was torn b/c even though it was only a 52-inch TV and I didn't want to throw it in the trash I also wanted to get a 4K TV with a larger picture for the living room so I bought a bigger, nicer TV for the living room and put the old Sony in my office and researched the issue until I finally figured out what was wrong with that old Sony, fixed it and put it in my office. So, the issue I kind of struggle with is, is that I watch a bit of TV in my office but I want to mainly listen to music in my office again. I have some lovely headphones but I also have some wonderful speakers I've had for years and I fight myself with this quandary of do I build a system out (I mean piece and part it together) for both audio and video or just make it audio only? So far for the past 3 years, I've chosen to just research it, put it off and work on other projects. In my old audio only set up, I have a really nice cassette deck (still works) but I don't use it, I have a really nice CD changer but it's 25+ years old and it no longer works and I don't have an allowance for blue tooth, no DAC, nothing for CD's nor FLAC/WAV/MP3, nor over the air nor satellite audio and the biggest issue is that I don't listen to audio much but I miss it and I really don't want to pour a ton of money into it. However, I also don't want to paint myself into a corner by spending a lot of money on something and then regretting that I didn't account for this or that later so I'm kind of cozying up to the idea of just buying inexpensive audio only gear (skip accounting for video for now) to just get it up and running and then worry about something more permanent later, maybe see about adding video in at that time, maybe not. Sorry for the long response!
  6. You have his address from the ID, I would put it in a small box and mail it to the address listed on the driver's license. Am I missing something?

  8. Our 2018 Honda Pilot has this and I disable it but it has a ton of other technology features which I really like, enjoy and appreciate but this is one which I just don't care to use. I think Scotty Kilmer does a pretty good job in this 5 minute video of explaining why Auto Start/Stop isn't the best feature for traditional, gas powered cars. As he explains, it was originally designed and engineered for hybrid cars but it was later adapted or retrofitted for use for gas powered cars to save, on average, 3% - 10% in fuel economy when the outside temperature is between 40 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. In his opinion, Auto Start/Stop is hard on the engine, starter and battery. And the way he explains it, to me, it makes perfect sense so I choose to disable it.

  10. Soft onion bun - wee bit of butter, grilled on the grill or plain/fresh is fine Grill the large, thin patties to medium on my weber grill, wifey uses a combination of salt, pepper and weber grill burger seasoning Vermont super sharp cheddar Bacon Thousand island Dill pickle chips Side of tater rounds (or tater tots) in the air fryer (not for health obviously, just like the texture better) Beer in a frosty mug (partial to Sunking Wee Mac these days)
  11. Thinking of you and wishing you a Happy Father's Day - I lurk on here from time and time and you always inspire me to work harder at being a better Dad - you're awesome!
  12. I stand here obviously embarrassed and fully corrected. Thank you. You are absolutely 100% correct. I was, clearly, way out of line with that incoherent gibberish of a sentence. I can only hope that, somehow, some way, will see it in your heart to forgive me of my foolishness.
  13. It's so odd to me how everyone's body seems to react so differently to this virus. Me, my wife and my son all got Covid from someone at my Mother-in-law's funeral last year (this is November 2020.) At that time, my son barely had a reaction to it (sick for a day maybe), my wife was sick for 3 or 4 days and I was sick for 10 days solid (I mean it physically hurt to move so much I would have to psych myself up to pee for 2 or 3 hours.) So, I signed us all up (all three of us) to get a Covid vaccine shot back in March and we finally got our Pfizer shots this week. Almost EXACTLY like when we all three got Covid back in November, my son had absolutely no side effects whatsoever. My wife felt sick for a half a day. I have been sick since Tuesday, I have no idea why but (for me) it's exactly like when I had Covid last fall. Very, very painful (aches and pains in all my joints to the point of moving around hurts like hell) nausea, no appetite, splitting headache, cold sweat and shivering chills. Today is much better than Wednesday but, still, it just seems so damned odd to me that three of us have three different reactions to the same virus. My sisters, Mom and brother have all had no reaction at all to the shot, it seems I'm the only lucky one to have had a reaction to it for some reason. I don't know if it's because I have already had Covid and they did not or what the deal is but I just thought I would share my experience. I don't regret getting the vaccine at all, I'm not trying to dissuade anyone, on the contrary, I'm a huge supporter of vaccines in general (personal opinion.) I just thought I would pass along my personal, anecdotal experience.
  14. Joan Baez, Janet Jackson, Donna Summer, Madonna and Randy Newman (are among, so, so, so many countless others that have absolutely nothing to do with rock and roll) are ALL in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So, with that in mind then yes, absolutely, I think there's room for Lenny Kravitz. God almighty, at least he's written and performed rock and roll material and at least he can play a guitar instead of just standing there using it as a prop like so many others in the RNR HOF.
  15. If I were desperate for a 3080, I would consider a very good pre-built system like this one on NewEgg for $2,700. If you consider the fact that 3080's are selling for $2,500+ all over the interwebz, $2,700 for an 8-core i7, 16GB of RAM, 1 TB NVMe, ASUS mobo, case, fans, 750 W PSU on top of the 3080 is a damn good deal imho. In ordinary times, I wouldn't really consider it as I like to build my own systems but these days, I'd jump all over it if I didn't already have two decent GPU's. Just offering this up for anyone looking.
  16. You can take this with a grain of salt since I'm a tried a true scarlet and gray fan over but I believe Fields is one of the best QB's I've ever watched at Ohio State. He has a ton of talent and I want nothing more than the most success possible for him in a Bears uniform. I hope they take their time and patience developing him and I hope he kicks ### in Chicago!
  17. There are several factors actually, scalpers, bitcoin miners and the worldwide chip shortage and there are bots set up to buy them up as they become available. Article here does a pretty job of explaining it. Even renting a bot doesn't necessarily guarantee you gpu either. Lastly, you can do what I did, which is that I just keep one window open on my pc and watch youtube, there are dedicated channels there for watching gpu availability, I'm not linking that, it's readily seen on youtube with a simple search.
  18. I know everyone likes to $hit all over Pandora for whatever reason but I just don't see the point of paying for something I just don't use all that often so I just use free Pandora. So, in my Subaru WRX, there's a Pandora App loaded on the NAVI screen, I fire it up on my phone and I'm off and running. I, especially, like the loophole my Subie has built in. If an ad pops up, I change the channel, another song starts playing, if I don't like it, I go back to the previous channel and a new song starts up and you get around the "6 skips limit for the free version" this way. Same deal with my wife's Honda Pilot, the Pandora App is preloaded already so, I mean hell it's streaming music, I have playlists generated already there so why is it such a piece of crap? I guess I'm ready for a fight - fight me about it why don't ya?
  19. Here is the footage, reddit link, it's hard for me to watch. From my perspective, to me it's clear, having watched the incident several times now, I believe with all my heart and mind that the young man would still be alive had he not tried to flee. If he had just let the officers cuff him while they searched him and his vehicle, he would still be alive today. Watching the video, you can see that the female police officer, instantly admitted she made a mistake. It's extremely obvious to me that she thought she drew her taser but instead she drew her firearm. The accidental homicide is clearly that - an accident - it was obviously not intentional. However, to me, it's very clear that that young man would STILL be alive today had he just LISTENED and not try to escape. I think, in order to move forward with this, BOTH SIDES NEED TO ADMIT FAULT! Two mistakes were made here, this is NOT a one sided error. When he jumps into that car, who's to say he doesn't pull a gun from under the seat and kill a police officer? It's completely unfair to pin 100% of the blame on the police officer, it's just not fair at all.
  20. So, I'm not trying to make excuses, but I think the biggest problem with B1G 10 teams is the timing of the B1G 10 tournament. I mean, if you take Ohio State (for example) - Ohio State played four DAMN physical, DAMN difficult games in a row - Thursday 3/11, Friday 3/12, Saturday 3/13 and Sunday 3/14 all 4 in a row. Again, so four very physical, very demanding, emotional games and then on just 4 days rest they turned around and played a very fresh Oral Roberts who played their tournament final game on Tuesday March 9th. So Oral Roberts played on 10 days rest/preparation vs Ohio State's 4 days rest, it's just silly and short sighted on the B1G 10's part in my humble opinion. Of course, I'm not at all saying that's taking ANYTHING away from ORU's win, I'm just saying the B1G 10 conference needs to smarten up and look at the long term picture and push that tournament back at LEAST one week, maybe more, in order to have their conference represented teams fresher and more competitive for the NCAA tournament, that's all.
  21. 1.) Of course 2.) I don't know why there would be. To me, the movie was never about "zOMG, look at what these Cubans are doing." In my opinion, the movie has always been about "the drug culture is not glamorous, in fact it's pretty horrible and most people that get into it have an extremely short life expectancy."
  22. I would use Easy Off oven cleaner and metal scrubbers (scotch brite and others make metal scrubber pads or steel wool like pads to scrub with.)
  23. It's been a slow death and it was very expected but it's still sad.
  24. Cut down the damned hedges so you can see the cross traffic MORON. . . and why does that dude look like he's 30 years older than his wife?
