  1. 32.06 True Democracy - Steel Pulse (1982) I was one of those suburban white kids who was really into reggae in the 80s. I didn't have dreads and I didn't even indulge in the ganja back then. I also didn't truly understand the message of most of the songs. But I still love this album, both for nostalgia reasons and also because it is just damn good. Songs: Worth His Weight in Gold Your House
  2. 31.35 Play - Moby (1999) Making fun of Moby is popular and easy. This album has some absolutely gorgeous songs on it though. Porcelain Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? (Today's theme song)
  3. I can't answer any of these questions, but I am sitting here in tears from reading news and watching video of the godawful #### that has been happening today.
  4. I grew up in suburban Seattle (Bellevue). Today there was a peaceful protest there, along with a bunch of looters who showed up and broke into the shopping mall that does the highest sales per square foot in the country. It is being looted right now. This is a community with a median household income of $100K.

  6. 30.06 Mariachi El Bronx (II) - Mariachi El Bronx (2011) The Bronx is a hardcore group that started a mariachi group as a side project. Is that shameful cultural appropriation? I don't know, but they absolutely do the musical form justice and write great songs in that style. They don't do it as shtick or as a novelty act. In fact, the mariachi group is probably more popular than the main group. Songs: Revolution Girls Bodies of Christ
  7. Been shuffling and I have added two albums to my personal library from artists I have never heard of before: Black Joe Louis & the Honeybears Exploding Hearts
  8. 29.35 Getting Ready - Freddie King (1971) I don't know that much about the Blues, but I know this rocks. King was a Texas Blues guitarist who played in Chicago, fusing the two styles. He died WAY too young. Songs: Going Down I'm Tore Down
  9. I chat with him on FB messenger and Twitter. He is doing well.
  10. Fun trivia is that after my divorce I had a dalliance with one of the girls who appears near the end of the video. She was 25 years older, but still memorable.
  11. 28.06 Kerosene Hat - Cracker (1993) This is just a great album by a band that I think gets overlooked a lot. Songs: Low Eurotrash Girl
  12. 27.35 Sumday - Grandaddy (2003) I wouldn't have guessed that lo-fi electronic alt-folk would be in my wheelhouse, but this album definitely is. I imagine that the singer's voice may be polarizing. There are some silly songs on the album that are really enjoyable, but the two I picked are much more emotionally compelling. Though I can't make much sense of the lyrics of the second one. Songs: The Warming Sun Okay With My Decay
  13. I am here. Will catch up on my picks in a few minutes. Today is the one year anniversary of my father's death, our country is a dystopian Hellscape, and I just found out our septic drain field failed and needs to be replaced. How is everybody's else's Saturday going?
  14. This was the other Police album I was weighing when I drafted Regatta de Blanc. Both are just full of great songs.
