  1. Nigel and some of the other uber music nerds may sneer at this one. Don’t care. Not even a little bit. 13.35 Live at Rome Olympic Stadium – Muse (2013) I like to throw stones at progressive rock, but I think Muse probably (kinda?) qualifies. This album knocked my socks off. They may sound better in concert than they do on studio albums, which is rare and awesome. I also find the crowd noise distracting on a lot of live albums, but on this one I think the audience actually enhances most of the songs. I have never seen them live, but if I ever get the chance, I am absolutely going to because of this album. Songs: Madness Starlight
  2. It's actually a compact SUV, but its MSRP was pretty high. Buying slightly used during a pandemic was a lot more affordable though. But the wheels are 21s and the tires are quite wide.
  3. Just got back from the tire store. I bought a slightly used care recently. Knew it would need new tires soon. Wasn't anticipating that they would be $355. Each. Give me a couple minutes.
  4. I didn't even realize it was Memorial Day weekend until yesterday. Doesn't feel like it. The idea of going away for the weekend is totally foreign to me. Not judging those who are, but that is definitely not the situation around here.
  5. Disorder from Joy Division just came on. This is a song I had maybe heard before this draft, but I can't be sure. I've heard it 2-3 times over the last few days and I am now a fan. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  6. This is usually quite helpful: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VaIRMXFWu5sQ71cKTBtKZ-ubp57VCq-x6Z1bSfLu-Xo/edit#gid=500233826
  7. Interesting. If anything this process has confirmed for me that I prefer the modern unbundled model of music consumption. So many albums contain so much stuff that could be politely called filler.
  8. Solution(s): Live in the obnoxiously temperate PNW and have your office in the basement. I'll be wearing a sweatshirt or flannel shirt all summer while I am "at work".
  9. I just started a separate playlist that I am calling "all timers" for the individual songs that I think are just peerless. So far the only two I have added so far are Back to Black and Biko. Wish You Were Here is on deck.

  11. There are several other albums that are a little higher on my personal list, but I feel like this one is at more risk of being sniped than most of the others. It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for him. 12.06 Broken Bells – Broken Bells (2010) I am not a giant Shins fan nor do I really know anything about Danger Mouse other than he is famous for being a producer, DJ, and whatnot. So I wasn’t predisposed to love this album. But I do. It also has personal meaning for me. This album and Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach were in heavy rotation in my life as I was going through a divorce and falling in love with a new woman, who is now my wife! There were a bunch of singles off this album and I liked them all, but I am going to continue to be that guy who selects “deep cuts” (such a stupid term) as the songs for the playlist. These really are my two favorites though. But I have to give a nod to Christina Hendricks in the Ghost Inside video. Songs: Your Head is on Fire The Mall & Misery
