  1. Hang in there man, the only way out is through! Best wishes for your Mom too!
  2. The MCU has plenty of heroes, but very few compelling villains. While I did kinda enjoy Loki becoming a more nuanced character by contemplating his motivations and trying to evolve/be better, at some point he has to have a "what the hell am I doing? I'm Loki" moment and go back to trying to burn the whole thing down.
  3. So Loki's a badass God of Mischief who can do magic and a couple of human guards can beat him up and toss him out a window? Silvie: "I don't sleep on trains" <proceeds to sleep on a train> And we all know Loki and Silvie aren't dying, so really, why worry about blowing up the big spaceship for drama's sake? Lazy writing. Still, I do enjoy when Loki and Silvie banter. And Loki singing what I'm assuming was a Norwegian ballad was pretty awesome.
  4. What I've having trouble with is if the Avengers were supposed to go back in time, then the sequence of events that gave Loki the Tesseract again were also supposed to happen. If that was supposed to happen then Loki in the TVA is the true timeline and the Marvel timeline where Loki dies by Thano's hand was an alternate timeline. Or am I missing something?
  5. Just got Moderna #2 an hour ago. Hopefully can avoid side effects. If there are long term side effects, I'm hoping it's growing a 3rd eye and telekinesis or some other cool super power/
  6. Welcome to the sh$%y club. Mine started with a neck tumor as well. Turned out to be HPV virus related throat cancer. I got lucky (knocks on wood) with surgery and radiation knocking it out. Here's hoping it turns out to be something similar for you. You can kick it's ###. My experience is limited, but if I can help in any way let me know. Stay strong, have faith, and savor every moment.
  7. Looks...interesting, but not very compelling. I'll see it, but may skip the theatre and wait for streaming unless it's gets huge word of mouth.
  8. Few things off the top of my head- https://www.adventureworks.com/locations/adventureworks-virginia-beach/ - just zip lines. Did it with the kids last year. Pretty good https://myadventurepark.com/location/virginia-beach-va/ - Obstacle courses in the trees, with the occasional zip line. Courses range from easy to very effin' hard. Kids love it and have gone many times. https://militaryaviationmuseum.org/ - private military museum not far from Sandbridge. Some very cool planes and other early military artifacts and information. https://www.apexentertainment.com/virginia-beach/ - New entertainment complex at the Virginia Beach Towncenter. Kids keep asking to go and will take them soon. From what I hear a good time. Only open less than a year. https://vabeachtowncenter.com/ - Va Beach Towncenter is a restaurant-shop complex of Virgina Beach. Have a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and other nice places. Virginia Beach Funny Bone comedy club there as well, might be some good acts while you're here. I'll try to think of some more and post later.
  9. Just watched The Last Blockbuster on Netflix. It was entertaining. Equal parts of nostalgia of renting from Blockbuster back in the day and the screwing the pooch of corporate Blockbuster failing to adapt.
  10. Disney needs to find a way to license Wanda's costume to Frederick's of Hollywood.
  11. Bought this one and put it in the attic. Ran a cord through the wall from it to an Amazon recast. No other amplifiers or signal enhancers. Works like a champ. I'm about 30 miles from the broadcast antennas. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYMVPVX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  12. Go see the Bad Moms movies right now. She is the trailer-trash friend in them. She's absolutely hilarious.
  13. How dare you like this show, it's far too white. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2021-01-08/netflix-cobra-kai-season-3-diversity
  14. So I caught the first episode of The Stand on CBS All Access. I'm a big fan of the book and have read it a few times. I even enjoyed the first TV adaptation somewhat. This one I'm not so sure. It's been changed around to modernize and some of the storylines are quite different, like Harold's. Stu has been given a flatout personality change. Still, I know I'll watch it all. Just not quite as excited as I once was.
  15. I want a Thrawn series. Perhaps the most underrated character in the Star Wars Universe. Did they every resolve his story or is it still ongoing?
  16. Another vote for Ted Lasso. This show seems right on time for 2020. A breath of fresh air really, with it's main theme of optimism, while still having an undercurrent of angst and heartbreak. Couldn't stop watching it. And the owner of the team does something for me. I would like to do things with her.
  17. Yesterday was the first time in years, probably since Flutie to be honest, that when Miami went ahead late I wasn't worried that the game was over. What is this feeling I'm feeling?
