My best guess is that when he was on the Steelers, they let him get away with bad teammate behavior . . . late to meetings, not showing up to things, and basically being a diva. It sounds like he could do whatever and rarely if ever got fined.

On Oakland, they didn't go for his shenanigans and fined him for the things that went against team and league rules. That set him off and sparked even more inappropriate behavior. AB apologized and thought that would result in his fines being waived, but instead the team fined him more money and took away his bonus money.

Thanks. That makes sense. It's too bad that someone this talented can't just shut up and play football and collect his millions and live a life 99% of us just dream about, without all the prima donna stuff.

  2. I just don't understand his thinking. So boo freakin what if you are not being used. Play out the last year of your deal, take the $5 million, and find a new team for next year. Jeez. You were a 7th round pick who should be lucky to be making what most of us can only dream of making in an entire lifetime and you whine about not getting enough PT? Dang dude, look out for your family's future first.

Prob just punished for the fumble, way too coach em up John. Maybe try benching your QB for turning the ball over 3x in the first 15 minutes

Exactly....Fox is one of the most overrated NFL coaches (along with Lewis and Fisher) and I suspect he will milk his Super Bowl appearance for a while longer.

He is maddingly frustrating with his RB usage going back to the Carolina days with Foster/Williams/Stewart and Denver with Anderson/Hillman.

  4. West got rejected by CLE and TEN. Enough said. Dixon should be the starter. But, Harbaugh is acting like John Fox did in Carolina with Deshaun Foster and Deangelo Williams. That was maddingly frustrating back in the day.

That idiot KC coach (Haley I think) did the same thing with a washed up Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles for a couple of years.

EDITED: Top 3 Bust in 15 years? SMH, was that a real comment or sour grapes because he didnt perform for you this week on the road in Minnesota with a QB who played bad?

Probably more frustration than anything. However, you'd have to look pretty hard to think of a top 3 player who has busted this bad in the first 4 games that wasn't injury related. Would love to heard some examples.

Honestly, he has no path. What I mean by that is that if he's good, he'll play. There is nothing in his way. Smallwood has Sproles and Mathews. Barner is about what West/Forsett are, but Mathews and Sproles appear to still be competent RBs who could hold off Smallwood if healthy.

I agonized over picking up Dixon and dropping Deandre Washington. Same situation as Philly, Washington will need a Murray injury and even then, he'll have to deal with Richard. Dixon has a chance to grab the job as soon as he hits the field due to suckiness of the other 2, Forsett and West. Not sure if Buck Allen even is in the picture.

  7. How long should we wait on Charles? Serious question. With each week that goes by, it gets even more concerning. I have not seen any concrete information from the Chiefs on where exactly he is with his knee. I spent a 4th round pick on him in my 10 man league and all he's doing is taking up a valuable bench spot. Here we are week 4 and he is not even close to returning. That is very concerning considering the fact that his injury occurred a year ago. If he can't get back onto the field in 12 months, how is he going to heal up and be able to play in a few weeks?

Needless to say, I am very concerned. Does any KC homer have more information? Is it a confidence thing right now of being able to cut on that knee? Is it soreness? Is it lack of healing? What is going on here?

  8. Look at his game log from last year. This guy fested on the pitiful PIT and ATL defenses and did very little otherwise against solid run defenses. The proof is in the details, folks. This guy is a worthless bumb.

  9. I think Jahvid Best...sorry...Duke Johnson will be just fine in a few weeks. Anyone believing he will become a 3 down back is either delusional or named Bracie.

Maybe so, but they didn't spend a 3rd round pick on him to have him sit around. I fully believe he'll push Crowell for early down carries in a few weeks. He's just not that talented (undrafted out of Alabama State) and he fumbles a lot. I see Duke doing a lot of damage with 10-15 touches a week (a la Charles).

Besides, with West gone, it's not like he has a lot of competition there.

  10. Rotoworld:

Larry Fitzgerald's new two-year, $22 million contract with the Cardinals contains a no-trade clause.

As all of Fitzgerald's 2015-2016 pay is guaranteed and he can prevent any would-be trades, Fitz is locked in as a Cardinal through his age-33 season (2016). Fitzgerald received a $10 million signing bonus and will get base salaries of $1 million in 2015 and $11 million in 2016. There are $16 million salaries in 2017 and 2018, but they void after the 2016-2017 Super Bowl.

That is crazy. Not sure what the Cardinals are thinking. That is total overpayment for a receiver who was clearly on the decline last year. $10 million signing bonus? Why not move forward with Floyd and Brown, who cleary have the talent. The Cardinals and the Bidwells are cleary the most dysfunctional team this side of the Raiders.

Lowest YPC by RB with 600 carries in their first three seasons.

is there anyway you could forward this to mr. pagano? thanks in advance.

Ya for some reason the Colts continue giving Richardson touches. At this stage I don't know why they are not feeding Herron 15 to 20 rush attempts a game and just spelling him with Richardson. There should not be a split at all. Herron looks dangerous and the offence flows so much better when he is in there. Herron looks noticeably better than any RB the Colts have played this year including Bradshaw.

At this point I am just flabergasted. How many times does it take until the coaches themselves get sick of Richardson? The fans and the entire world have already known this all year. Yet here we are in week 15 and every Colt back has thouroughly outplayed Richardson game after game after game. Indy will be bounced in the 1st round if they continue to trot him out there. He's nothing but a drive killer, 3 yards and a cloud of dust. It is painful to watch. Then you see Boom on the other side spinning and breaking tackles and generally running angry.

Does he have dirt on Pagano? Is the front office continuing to justify the move and overriding the coaches? I don't know what it is. Until they start losing, I don't think things will change. Unfortunately, by then, it will be too late for this year.

  12. I just don't think I ever foresaw the "let's sit Josh on 3rd downs" strategy.

It was absolutely ridiculous. Who sits their biggest playmaker on 3rd down? The most crucial down in football? Pettine! That's who!

Pettine is turning out to be one of the worst coaches in the NFL. The way he has handled the RB situation and Gordon just screams amateur. Put him right up there with Philbin as WTF hires.

  13. So the million dollar question: Is he worth risking in a critical week 15 playoff matchup based on 1 ok game and 2 duds (by Gordon's standards) in a row?

I'm seriously thinking about sitting him in favor of Benjamin or Maclin. Too risky to blow my 11-3 season on.

Edit to add: Was Gordon's season last year reminisence of Braylon Edwards 2007 where all the stars aligned and then he just fell off the map after that?

  14. Obviously this would cost of lot of people chances at a fantasy championship, so defintely a concern even if it just hinders him. I also noticed that he got stepped on in the end zone this past Sunday as well.

    Per Rotowire:

Thomas (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday, the Broncos' official site reports.
Per coach John Fox, Thomas "got stepped on" during practice, with the wideout's status now worth monitoring as Sunday's game against the Bills approaches.
