  1. I've been meaning to ask this for a while. So, I did a google search of 'Luna Hybrid' or 'Luna split zone' and I can't find what you are talking about. I was wondering if you meant 'Luma'. I found a company called Luma Sleep with hybrid mattresses. And they are recommended by mattress underground. But I didn't see the 'split zone' so I am curious what that is about. Or, I am wondering if there is some other mattress that you are talking about and I am misinterpreting. And finally I am wondering how you like it. I have an all latex mattress. My wife and I really like it but we are moving, and our current mattress is a queen and we are planning to buy a king. We were taking a serious look at the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora that is a hybrid. I was wondering how you like the hybrid. If it is a Luma that you have, I like that it is a hybrid with a latex topper. The Brooklyn is foam. We are interested in the Brooklyn because it is supposedly new technology cooling foam. We are also worried about it too because it is foam. We like the fact that latex is all natural and worry about the things they put in foam. It's just that the cooling part sounds really good to us and the price is really good. We definitely like a cool mattress.
  2. Thanks for both replies. I appreciate it. I feel like stainless is more durable and easier to clean, but I do like how the food cooks on the cast iron a little better. I’ve had some rust and chipping off of my cast iron grates but nothing a thorough cleaning couldn’t fix. I agree that they do take babying but I also feel like it might be worth it. And I don’t live in a salt / air area so I don’t think that would play much a factor for me. The grills with stainless come with a pretty significant price increase and I always think that if the cast iron grates do deteriorate too much I could always replace with stainless down the road.
  3. Thank you for those insights. Very helpful in making my decision. And yes, when I started looking into infrared I was searching BBQGUYS and the one I saw that looked awesome was this Broilmaster R3N. And it came in under $1500 which is near the top of what I was looking to spend, but something I would consider. But when I look into it further… this grill did not have any side tables, and from what I can see no underneath storage. If I add side tables, a cover, and maybe some type of outdoor storage I am getting out of budget. And, I’ve never used infrared so I would be worried about spending so much on something I’m not sure I like. And the next step up in infrared from that grill cost well over $2K. In the end I am most likely going to get a standard 3 burner grill with no bells and whistles. No side burner. No rotisserie. I’ll probably end up doing all kinds of research, over-analyze things, re-think, second guess… then just go out and get a 3 burner Weber. I’ve just accepted that the over-analyzing is part of my process! Right now I am looking at the Weber Spirt E-310 and the Napoleon Rogue 3 burner (or Rogue XT). I like the stainless steel sear plates on the Napoleon. There is one brand I am not familiar with that I am considering and was wondering if anyone has any experience with. I was also looking at the Broil-King Monarch 320. It seems heavy duty. I like the stainless-steel Dual-Tube burners. I also think the Flav-R-Wave flavorizer bars looks nice too. I also like that you can just rest a smoker box on them. But I’ve never even seen one in person or known anyone that has one. One more question. Any preference between cast iron grates vs. stainless steel grates? I really wish I could get a standard 3 burner, no extras, with stainless steel grates. But as soon as you make it up to a stainless steel grate model with just about any grill maker, it is part of their higher end line and has the extras I don’t necessarily want. And, is more expensive. But I cook on cast iron grates now and I like them so… I’m not sure it’s a big deal anyway.
  4. Haha... well that answers that question about the rotisserie. So what do you use the infrared side burner for? I could see it as a place to sear a steak, then finish on the main grill but it looks like a lot of people just cook the steak on the sear station for the entire cook? Or I could see it being a great place to finish a reverse sear steak.
  5. Thank you both for that feedback. @snellman That is really interesting about the wheels. I would have never even thought about the wheels being a factor. Also helpful to know that the whole concept of reducing flare ups actually works. I do not plan on wheeling my grill around so this tells me it could be a viable option. I was a little worried that the cleanup might be more complicated but I watched some videos about it and it seems the cleanup could end up being a little easier because of the plates under the grates. And @Ron Swanson thank you for the suggestion of Napoleon. I have been checking them out today. The whole infrared thing is really intriguing to me. They have the infrared side burner as well as the rear infrared for rotisserie. The rotisserie is a tough call because I just don’t know if I would really use it. I am pretty anti gimmick and I feel like that rotisserie is something I might use a few times then just forget about it. And it looks like it might be a pain to clean up. I think I might use the side infrared sear burner though. And their grills are within the price range I have been looking.
  6. I have been grill shopping. I am moving to a house that has a natural gas hookup running to the back of the house so I am planning to switch from propane to natural gas. And I love this thread, and I love reading about smokers, and I think charcoal grills are awesome, but I am planning to just get a plain old natural gas grill for now. I’m thinking 3 burner, maybe 4. The smoker may come in time but not now. I have a Weber 2 burner now. It is great. I love it. No frills but it is solid and produces good meals. I had pretty much decided I was just going to get a Weber 3 burner with a natural gas connection. I don’t really want to attempt to do some kind of conversion on my current propane grill. Which brings me to my question… especially for @TheFanatic One type of grill I have been intrigued by is infrared. It looks cool but most of the infrared grills I found were high end and well over $1K. But then I saw this Char-Broil with what is referred to as TRU-Infrared. If my notebook serves me correctly I thought TheFanatic used to do videos for Char-Broil or something like that? I was wondering if TheFanatic or anyone else had any feedback on this grill? Or Char-Broil in general? It looks like a pretty sturdy grill and I the TRU-Infrared looks interesting. This is the one I saw that piqued my interest: Char-Broil Commercial Stainless Infrared with Side Burner
  7. Over the winter I bought a collection of porters and stoudts. I came away disappointed. Didn't really find anything I loved. And a few things I didn't like at all. I came away from the experience with a craft beer fatigue feeling. I decided I would give the craft beer a rest for a little bit and buy some Yuengling. So I guess Yuengling is technically a craft beer, but they are kind of like an in-betweener. I bought a 12 pack of Lager, Golden Pilsner, Black & Tan, and Porter. The 2 beers that I hadn't had in forever impressed me. I hadn't had Black & Tan or Porter in probably over 20 years. Both were really good. I feel like the Porter in particular was a standout. It is a pretty straight forward Porter but it seemed like it had the slightest sweetness that smoothed it out a little bit. It was good. I also found the collection of beers as a whole to be really good. Some days I was craving light and crisp. Other days, full body. With that lineup they had the whole range covered. I feel like their lineup of beers compliment each other very well.
  8. Just got done reading Acid for the Children a memoir by Flea of RHCP fame. So, it was pretty good. I like non fiction. It was kind of crazy. I actually believe he wrote it because it isn't written well (from a literary standpoint) and is kind of a collection of short chapters that represent random memories of his childhood. The book covers basically his childhood up to the RHCP first show. It doesn't get into the RHCP years. At the time I started reading it... it was perfect because I just wanted something really easy to read that wasn't too deep. It was cool to hear about his early days meeting and hanging out with Anthony K. I guess I would say one thing I was surprised about was the amount of drug use. Just started reading Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey. Looks pretty cool.
  9. What do you think of the Yurcich hire? I feel really bad for Ciarrocca... and even though PSU's offense didn't click at the beginning, I really liked what he was doing with the offense. I also loved that he was a central PA guy growing up in Lewisberry, practically in my backyard. In a way I feel like this doesn't have much to do with Ciarrocca. Yurcich was a big name. I think he was Franklin's first pick for the job when it was eventually given to Ciarrocca. He bacame available and Franklin pounced when he had the opportunity. I also think he be gone soon, but I am actually somewhat impressed that Franklin is taking this shot.
  10. 12 team full ppr no flex QB: Tom Brady (bench Justin Herbert) RB: Dalvin Cook, David Johnson (bench James Robinson, Chris Carson) WR: Allen Robinson, AJ Brown (bench Corey Davis, Marvin Jones) TE: Travis Kelce (bench TJ Hockenson) K: Lutz Def: Browns I actually drafted Brady, Cook, Carson, Robinson, AJ, Kelce and Hockenson. And I followed the Draft Dominator every round every pick. I started Carson at the beginning of the year, Robinson after Carson got hurt, then I picked up Johnson off the wire for my championship game based on projections in the League Dominator, thanks FBG!!! Robinson and Herbert were my 2 key wire pickups and carried me through the middle of the season. I paid 10% of my FA budget on Robinson after week 1. I also spent 20% of my FA budget on Malcom Brown after week 1... that one didn't work out haha.
  11. I feel like this thread needs this song Drinkin' Problem - Midland
  12. Someone dropped the Browns for their bye week so I picked them up. Bad matchup this week with the Texans but they have a pretty sweet schedule coming up. I mainly picked them up for their playoff matchups wk11 Eagles - Wentz gets sacked a lot and has a tendency for pics wk12 Jags - rookie QB wk13 Titans - eh wk14 Ravens - bad matchup wk15 Giants - good matchup wk16 Jets - good matchup
  13. A week or so ago I heard a commentator during an Eagles game say something to the effect of ...someone needs to talk to Carson Wentz and just tell him that he doesn't have to win the superbowl with every throw and every play they run. As I watched last night, this statement resonated with me during a play where Wentz dropped back, maybe 10+ yards to avoid pressure, rolled out left a little, turned his body to throw and was sacked and I think he fumbled. Sometimes I wonder if he is trying too hard. The whole thing where Foles came in as a backup and won the SB, I wonder if that sticks in his head and he really does just try too hard to win... on every play.
  14. This is what I was thinking exactly. I really love Herbert ROS. Have you seen his schedule? The teams he is playing give up a lot of pts to QBs: Jags / Broncos / Raiders / Dolphins / Jets / Bills / (Pats not good matchup) / Falcons / Raiders / Broncos I have Herbert and was really really close to picking up Fitz to stream this week, and almost picked up Carr a few weeks ago but I have serious trust issues with both of them. I believe I've read a few other posters express those same thoughts. I feel like Fitz and Carr really have turned the corner, and really will be great this year, and I keep telling myself that over and over. But I just... can't... bring myself to get them and keep them. I've seen Fitz have the 4 INT game after lighting it up. I've witnessed the Carr rollercoaster. I wish them and their owners the best but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I still have a 2nd QB. Brady. And I am not excited at all about having Brady. But I feel secure about Brady's floor i guess is the best way I can put it? I guess that is the biggest thing, I always feel like Fitz and Carr's floor is squeaky and about to bust at any moment. I think I am wrong this year, but the past has kept me from building up high hopes.
