  1. Guys, i just finished season one, I love this show. Not sure if it gets explained more in seasons 2 and beyond but how the hell am i supposed to believe a character as bright as Peggy could be pregnant and not even know about it? I mean no periods, all the issues that come up with pregnancy, didnt she know she had done it with Pete?I guess she thought the pill would protect her but was this believable to any of you?

It's happened before in the real world, although it is rare.
  2. Wait...is this the one based on a comic book?

Yep. Sorry to hijack the thread, didn't mean to, just wanted to throw a suggestion out there because AMC has really delivered two of the best shows in the past 5 years (Breaking Bad and Mad Men) so giving them a shot at their new show makes sense.
I'm waiting to hear from Sepinwall before I commit to this.
  3. Just a heads-up, for those that fast forward through the commercials, next week AMC will be starting The Walking Dead which looks to be very good. Maybe that may help with any sort of blues you might have about not having Mad Men on.

Isn't that some sort of zombie show?
Oh look, a diverse group of 20-something 14CCP's tries to escape from zombies...and in the process learn something...about themselves.
Not so much on this from what I heard.
    Eastbound and Down down?

  5. Mad Men Season 5 Speculation

Will SCDP still be going, still struggling? Or will they have recovered? Will Pete Campbell replace Burt Cooper as the C?

Will Joan still be pregnant and working at the office? Will she have had the baby?

How about Don and Megan. Still engaged? Already Married? Will Don have already cheated on her?

And how about Betty? Still married to Henry? Or divorced and now in a mental institution?

I think Pete will replace Cooper and the firm will still be struggling

Joan will have delivered the baby and at home

Don and Megan will be married and while he will not have cheated on her, his eye will start to wander

Not sure about Betty. I can see her finally realizing she is not happy, divorce Henry but then break down

  6. What a dissappointing night of television. Boardwalk Empire becomes unwatcheable and Mad Men season finale lays an egg.

Seemed like the whole point of Don getting divorced was to get him single and womanizing. Megan's friend was right with teeth like that she shouldn't be an actress.

Also how do they not drop a bomb on Joan's husband at the end? Give us something. Jeez.

I don't want you to take this personally, but I think you are a complete idiot.
  7. Watching season 5 again. Is there anyone who actually liked that storyline involving the newspaper?:lmao:I find myself fast-forwarding through any scenes involving the reporters when they are at work. And MAN... is Dominic West's British accent coming through loud and clear that season. Especially the first few episodes. I have no idea how they didn't catch that as they were filming, or at least in post-production.

I enjoyed it, but it was a barely-concealed love letter to old-school journalism.
  8. My prediction for next season (not how I would see it end, but how I think it will): all the main characters have their worlds crumble around them - Vince (drugs, loss of top tier status), Ari (family and business fall apart), Turtle (loses out on Tequila and girl), E (blows up vs. fiancee and business), Drama (?). By the end of the season, they strive to find what they used to have in the "glory days" and get back to their roots of friendship and carefree partying - which sets up the ensuing movie to get a fresh start as if nothing really happened in the series.

I think next season is everything getting somewhat good again, ends with a triumphant return, and the movie is basically just a dopey, cameo-filled "victory" lap with only minor problems. Why the #### do we watch this ####?
  9. Another quality episode. Loved hearing Don's inner thoughts....Also good to know Bethany Van Nuys is not afraid of happiness in a cab

1965: The year the :lmao: was invented.

Maybe Lane actually likes baseball? Plenty of Yanks like soccer, after all.

Could be. He could have picked a better team though. The Mets were terrible up until 1969.
    Maybe he loves the underdog?
  10. Random note: I looked up how long Weiner wants to go (tee hee hee), and he envisions 6 seasons.

Seems like that's about the right shelf life for quality tv shows.
Yep, usually 6 or 7. I looked it up because if it was 7, last night would've been the series midpoint.
