  1. Good article on what Vietnam did. Early action was the key: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-asia-52628283
  2. 95K is the current low end of the confidence interval from the IHME model. I wonder if that's where he got that number from. https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america
  3. More info here: http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/phcommon/public/media/mediapubhpdetail.cfm?prid=2328
  4. https://twitter.com/rkwadhera/status/1243612614975873024?s=21 Only a 5 person study but encouraging results regarding plasma from recovered patients used to treat critically ill patients.
  5. If a larger proportion of younger people are in the hospital then is to be expected, could it be that a larger proportion of younger people have contracted it in relation to other age groups? Seems like the younger population that hasn't been social distancing were spreading it around to each other for awhile, and since older age groups have been isolating for a longer period of time, there isn't as great of a proportion of that older age range that are sick.
  6. Tons of studies being released everyday, but I thought this one was particularly interesting and worth sharing. Researchers calculated that possibly 86% of CV infections in China went undocumented: https://science.sciencemag.org/content/early/2020/03/13/science.abb3221 EDIT: that number is prior to travel restrictions implemented 1/23/20
  7. Appreciate the responses! I’m sure it’s too early to say what percentage of people would be in this group, but it’s a bit frightening that there are possibly people spreading this virus (assuming it spreads asymptomatically), without ever knowing they even have/had it.
  8. Quick question about asymptomatic people. Not sure if we would know this at this point, but is it possible to test positive, never show any symptoms, and test negative once the body has completely fought off the virus? Maybe it’s too early to say with this novel coronavirus, but has this happened with novel viruses in the past?
  9. Just wanted to also say... as someone who never posts here but lurks around from time to time, I’ve been hooked on this thread since the beginning and I’ve been so much more informed about this virus than most due to all the great info in here. Stocked up early to avoid the crowds, etc. So, thank you all!
  10. I’ve been lurking for awhile but figured I’d post this study on reinfection. My apologies if it was already posted: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.13.990226v1
  11. It is amazing. I live in State College (student at Penn State), and it is still seems very cult-ish when the topic of Paterno is brought up and the support he still gets. If it is defaced it won't be by any community members/students.
