  1. Republican Sen. Tim Scott: "Obviously, if your question is, should you use tear gas to clear a path so the president can go have a photo-op, the answer is no.”
  2. Rebecca Tan @rebtanhs Want to clarify something: The @WhiteHouse said protestors were given three verbal warnings before they released tear gas. I was standing at the metal barriers with rows of other protestors behind me and did not hear a single warning.
  3. They are not required to "get out of the way for the President." That is what the 1st Amendment provides when they peaceably assemble. Second, they were not requested to get out of the way for the President. They were simply forcibly removed by riot police tactics and tear gas.
  4. Natasha Bertrand@NatashaBertrand “Attorney General William P. Barr personally ordered law enforcement officials on the ground to extend the perimeter around Lafayette Square just before President Trump spoke Monday, a Justice Department official said.”
  5. Floyd family lawyer Ben Crump says that Joe Biden will be attending George Floyd's funeral in Houston, Texas.
  6. Who will keep the people safe from the Police?

  8. F1 2020 opening calendar 3-5 July - Austrian Grand Prix (Red Bull Ring) 10-12 July - Steiermark Grand Prix (Red Bull Ring) 17-19 July - Hungarian Grand Prix (Hungaroring) 31 July-2 August - British Grand Prix (Silverstone) 7-9 August - 70th Anniversary Grand Prix (Silverstone) 14-16 August - Spanish Grand Prix 28-30 August - Belgian Grand Prix 4-6 September - Italian Grand Prix It is understood that F1 is highly confident of finishing the championship with races in Bahrain on 6 December and Abu Dhabi on 13 December. Before that, the low incidence of coronavirus in China, Vietnam and Japan makes races in those countries a strong probability in October.
  9. Tucker Carlson seems to get it: Meridith McGraw @meridithmcgraw· 56m Wow -- Tucker Carlson is really going after everyone tonight, including Jared Kushner: "No one has more contempt for Donald Trump's voters than Jared Kushner does and no one expresses it more frequently." YIKES. The whole quote: "Some key advisors around the president don't seem to understand the gravity of the moment. No matter what happens they'll tell you, 'our voters aren't going anywhere, the trailer parks are rock-solid. What choice do they have? They have to vote for us.'"
  10. Context is important. Maybe they are all going home from a softball game in the park.
  11. Its kind of looks like he was forced to make a hostage video.
  12. From last week: THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you very much, Ben [Carson]. You know, I had to run against him, and he was very tough. And he was even tougher when he’d run onto a stage holding a Bible up in the air. That was tough. I said, “That’s tough to beat.” https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-cabinet-meeting-17/
  13. NYT: "Can confirm, based on sources familiar with what happened "
  14. Two candidates visited a church today, two very different approaches: Trump Biden
  15. You know, a savvier president would have taken that photo-op, and opened up the bible and read his favorite, or at least an appropriate, passage.
  16. No - you did not jump into the wayback machine. Our long national nightmare is over. A multiyear State Department probe of emails that were sent to former secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s private computer server concluded there was no systemic or deliberate mishandling of classified information by department employees, according to a report submitted to Congress this month. The report appears to represent a final and anticlimactic chapter in a controversy that overshadowed the 2016 presidential campaign and exposed Clinton to fierce criticism that she later cited as a major factor in her loss to President Trump. In the end, State Department investigators found 38 current or former employees “culpable” of violating security procedures — none involving material that had been marked classified — in a review of roughly 33,000 emails that had been sent to or from the personal computer system Clinton used. Overall, investigators said, “there was no persuasive evidence of systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information.” The report cited “instances of classified information being inappropriately” transmitted, but noted that the vast majority of those scrutinized “were aware of security policies and did their best to implement them.”
  17. Kind of surprised to see this thread drop to the 2nd page. Big day for Bernie tomorrow. I expect a big turnout for his NY rally and Endorsement from AOC. It now, also includes special guest and also endorsing Bernie - Michael Moore. I am a little surprised the Progressive wing is placing bets now - obviously there must be some underlying resentment towards Warren - but I don't know what that is all about.
  18. Wait, there is more!!! Clinton Communications Director responds to Tulsi: Nick Merrill@NickMerrill· 27m Assad day for your candidacy.
  19. She has certainly stayed under the radar despite both Senate races being available. Personally - I think that would be a disaster of a ticket. Top of the ticket does not inspire anything. Bottom of the ticket is inspiring - but it does not inspire confidence. Biden has lost his fastball (assuming he ever had it) - you want someone who you feel comfortable with stepping in for Biden when it matters. Abrams, by not getting the scrutiny of a national campaign until she would be on the ticket, does not inspire confidence that she is ready to step in at a moment's notice.
  20. Maybe he will, maybe he wont. If he loses Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada before South Carolina - then I think he has a big task on Super Tuesday - and not enough time to raise money, or even spend money he might have left. Biden is in trouble - and its better for everyone if the bubble burst sooner, rather than later.
  21. This would be nothing short of AWESOME! Obama should just announce it and watch GOP heads explode. Then Dems ride the wave with no GOP opposition.
  22. Jon Sopel@BBCJonSopel Wow. #Erdogan tells news conference the letter sent by @realDonaldTrump telling him not to be a ‘tough guy’ wasn’t in line with diplomatic or political customs. He said they wouldn’t forget the lack of respect. “When the time comes necessary steps will be taken” :smh: Trump looking like the headliner at amateur hour.
