  1. Hey bro, Where do you have Sterling Shepard in your WR rankings. After today's combine I have him as my #1 WR. I was worried about the athlete he was before the combine but he had a hell of a day today........

Probably moving him up to top 5. Was worried he wouldn't test well.

  2. Where's Johnny: Manziel Bounces BackJul 31, 2014 -- 3:15pm http://www.espncleveland.com/common/more.php?m=49&post_id=35561
  3. There wasn't a thread on Mike Evans, so here we go. I'll start by squashing the notion that Evans doesn't have enough speed. Here he is burning LSU CB Rashad Robinson who ran a career best 10.46 100m. http://youtu.be/iTOSJxctBIE?t=2m11s He's not Mike Wallace, but his combination of size and strength and subtle moves will allow him to regularly get open downfield. There may be a number of people who will label him "stiff" and question his ability to "sink the hips". Well, Demaryius Thomas wasn't exactly the polished route runner when he came into the league: http://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2012/12/
  4. The people debating that it's a 10 ft. rim are hilarious. What they aren't accounting for is his running start, which allows him to jump a lot higher than the standing vertical at the combine. I've seen plenty of 6' tall guys dunking, nothing especially impressive about that. The video also only shows his successful dunks, not all the misses. Let me know when he does a windmill or double-pump reverse, something with power. One advantage Manziel has is his huge hands allowing him better control of the ball.
  5. Vick's college career completion percentage was 56%. Manziel's was 69%. Manziel's hands are also over an inch bigger, which is important for QBs. Tony Romo has 8-7/8" hands. It's only important in cold weather. Measurables in general are overblown. If a guy can play, he can play whatever his size is. There are plenty of players who measure up but can't play. If a guy has a laser arm, it doesn't matter what his hand size is. Bigger hands isn't going to make Vick more accurate. It might help him with ball security, though.
  6. Dallas is probably the best spot for Manziel. Jerry Jones is a guy not scared of character blemishes and Romo does a lot of scrambling on broken plays just like Manziel. Manziel doesn't fit what O'Brien likes at QB. Buffalo would have been a good fit, but too bad they overdrafted Manuel last year. While Id agree with this, he has shown to be quite adept at developing QBs and leaning on their strengths. I still cant believe he turned Matt McGloin into a viable NFL QB/backup QB. He did? McGloin started some games this year, no? He was serviceable with a below average supporting cast, no? As a

Manziel doesn't fit what O'Brien likes at QB. Buffalo would have been a good fit, but too bad they overdrafted Manuel last year. They got their starting QB with a mid 1st pick and he performed as well as Luck his rookie year. This despite coming in as a raw player. I have been impressed with Manuel. He didn't look as good later as he did early on but I was still impressed. Their backups looked ok, like backups, but that's a

  9. QBs rarely change their mechanics much from college to the NFL. Manziel worked with Whitfield last year. He still has the same mechanical flaws. The only successful QB I can think of who has made a significant change in his throwing motion is Aaron Rodgers. At Cal, Rodgers used to hold the ball high with the ball horizontal: http://archive.dailycal.org/photos/111648-105965-06.29.football.Deng-KaiChen-03.jpg He now holds it by his chest with the ball more vertical: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6r1X0fFjYiE/TpuC_rZXuxI/AAAAAAAAACc/NHqn8zb1ads/s1600/aaron-rodgers.jpg
  10. He officially loses eligibility to play college football once he signs with an agent, which will already happen months before the draft.
  11. He's a QB that runs that mostly makes plays outside the pocket and on broken plays chucking it up to a 6'5" WR who overpowers smaller DBs. There's legit concerns...and then there's this nonsense. There are four guys on his team with 40+ catches. Mike Evans' best two games were vs Alabama and Auburn and Texas A&M still lost. If Evans isn't on that team, they have no chance. What does that have to do with Manziel? Evans is great, no doubt. But it's not him alone making Manziel great. That's like saying Calvin Johnson alone doesn't make Stafford great. Andre Johnson doesn't make Case
