  1. Doesn't have to be difficult. If the season is shortened between week 14 - 16 whoever is in the lead wins it. If before then the contest is terminated with no winner. It's a free contest so nobody loses anything. It's not pleasant but you want to keep it simple and not restructure anything at this point.
  2. That August 14th date was put up there within the past week. Prior to that it said "early August" which aligned with Dodds mention of August 5th. Not sure what would cause pushing it out until the middle of the month.
  3. Hopefully it'll still be August 5th. Under the "Contests" tab it now states August 14th. No reason to delay it past the 5th.
  4. Going all in on rookies isn't my thing - much prefer proven vets. Having said that, very solid corp of 4 WRs. Those 4, along with Zeke and Butker make for a strong 6 starters, but many questions after that - your QBs, RBs after Zeke and even TE - Fant is a nice talent but not sure about the volume he'll be getting this year. Good luck.
  5. Should I put E Sanders in my lineup (late game) vs K Stills (early) and risk the 0 or re-injury? PPR and no other options. Very important week. Thx!!!
  6. PPR, where I already have M Gordon, should I accept Ekeler for A Jones?
  7. The discount on the holdout RBs will be more interesting.
  8. A strong season by Fournette could be the deciding factor if it makes the playoffs or not, along with Hill having a short suspension then having a great year. The WR corps isn't strong enough to perform without him. If it does get into the playoffs (and you're without Hill in week 12...) there are a few potential upside guys to help in the championship weeks - Sutton and Allison, Henderson, Reed that needs to still be healthy weeks 14-16, and Olsen to get hurt. The odds are less than 50% of making the playoffs. I understand the desire to draft an all-risk, high upside team for fun but it's just not my style. Bottom line - this team was drafted for the championship run - the challenge will be to get there.
  9. I always start off by looking for 10 solid starters. I only see 8 here, so the final two will need to be chosen among Penny, Eckler, Hines, Washington, Hockenson, etc.... Not a good situation. Either a couple of those guys will surprise significantly or you'll need help from the waiver wire. I like Hines, Thompson and Richard as best ball contributors but don't want to start them except as bye week fillers. I also expect significant regression from Ebron which could even cause a problem with your #1 TE if it happens.
  10. The RB corp is a bit of a cluster after McC. Michel is a big ? at this point and the Carson/Penny thing will be a problem. They may end up splitting carries, so who will you be starting? Both of them or neither? I can't see one or the other dominating the role. Other than that it's ok.
  11. 4th Pick: QBs - Ryan (10); Wentz (12) RBs - McCaffrey (1); Fournette (3); J White (5); Lat Murray (6); J Richard (13); A Blue (20) WRs - M Evans (2); R Woods (4); T Boyd (7); M Jones (9); J Crowder (14); D Hamilton (14); A Wilson (17) TEs - T Burton (8); K Rudolph (11); J Witten (16) PK - J Elliott (19) Def - NO (18) Thoughts? Would appreciate feedback. Thx.
  12. PPR TE Premium - Highest UPSIDE - Gus E, J Howard, Jeffery, Brate or McDonald? THX!!!
  13. Riddick has been very consistent. You don't know what you're going to get out of Thompson. If I was going to start Thompson over Riddick I'd need to be way down, hoping for one of those explosive games you can get from him. But if you need to be assured of a higher floor, Riddick is the guy.
  14. I'm starting guys like T Boyd and A Jeffery over him in a PPR. Both those guys are risks but perhaps to a lesser degree than Edwards.
  15. PPR - Higher UPSIDE between P Barber or J Howard? Already trailing badly....
  16. I'd like to see the bye weeks included. Dodds has said he's concerned many would mistake that for the player's price, but that's on the participant, just like they need to be accountable for following all the other instructions.
  17. Agreed Joe. All those weekly deliverables during the season are always timely, often ahead of schedule. I can't think of anything else late, and I'm probably on the site 5 X a day when the season starts.
  18. If the prior participation rate was about 90 - 95%, my guess it will be about 75% this year because of the late release. It'll be be interesting to see. The improvements might be worth the wait but will have to wait to judge. In late August the more casual FFers could be distracted by other things - vacations, the holiday, planning for the start of school, doing redrafts, etc.... so could result in a 20% decline? I'd be pleasantly surprised if it stayed at the same high level of participation.
  19. If you look under Contests - "Sit tight. The 2018 contest will open in late July or early August". The past 4 years it was released 8/1, 8/2, 8/3 & 8/4. It's not the end of the world here - am just stating it's changing this year after saying it would be released the same time as the prior 4 years without explaining why. If it was just to get more accurate pricing why decide that after you say it's coming out the same time as prior years?
  20. With this Subscriber contest not being released until mid-August vs the July, early August they committed to, the numbers of participants and interest will be down as it would be if they open it up to paid entries. By that point fantasy players are focused on other things - their drafts, preparing for daily contests, etc... so the overall #s would shrink considerably. If the goal with the subscriber contest is to generate a lot of interest and encourage everyone to play they messed up this year. Still not a clear reason why - they stated themselves it would be open late July, early August, not mid-August.
  21. I always thought FBG could monetize this. Could create two contests - keep this one as is, free for subscribers, but create a duplicate that costs maybe $20 - $30 to join, so you could submit multiple entries. The IT infrastructure should exist to support this since you're already doing it (so low maintenance cost) with an incremental cost to FBG to manage the payment and disbursement process. Might not be a big windfall for FBG, but something is there if you get 5,000 - 7,000 entries. I'm guessing it wouldn't bastardize the FFPC/FBG contests to a significant degree, if any.
