  1. This. No rookie QB has ever won the Super Bowl, as far as I'm aware. If Fields pulls that off, he'd exorcise the ghosts of Cade McNown, Mike Glennon, and Bad Rex forever.
  2. We haven't forgotten. 🐸 🐸 🐸 🐸 🐸 🐸 🐸
  3. ‘Twas the night before draft day and all though the league Not a soul was asleep despite their fatigue. My wife in her nightie, rolled to her side While I studied the stats and checked on the Byes, When what to my spreadsheet should suddenly appear, But a sleeper that moved to the top of his tier. More rapid than eagles were his yards after the catch, And I knew that this player would be hard to look past. And how had I grown so adept and so wise? By swimming with sharks on a site called FootballGuys. Thanks to the posters who visit each day, And thanks to Joe Bryant for paving the way. And now I’ll say to all on the site, Happy Draft Day to all, and to all a good night!
  4. My birthday was on the 21st. And I also feel old. The poor Leo's in this thread...
  5. I think it was good for him that he was forthcoming about where he stood and the supposed roots of his discontent. I also think his expectations about wanting to be more involved in personnel decisions are pretty absurd. I realize he tried to soften it by saying "just say something to me and maybe I can change your mind," or something along those lines, but I see this as another case of a player elevating himself beyond reason. And I certainly don't think the organization came out looking poorly at all. He bemoaned how other players were treated towards the end of their careers, but he also acknowledged that it's a business. And I didn't come away convinced that the organization did anything more egregious than what every other NFL team does when it's time to move on.
  6. Odd take. I didn't get that impression at all. I enjoyed it, too. But I think he made himself look stupid and greedy. And I don't think he landed anything. I think he came across like a petulant child throwing a hissy fit. The front office looked much better in the end.
  7. Yeah, auction leagues in person are the best. We've been in person for a decade now, including last year. Don't see that changing. No idea who's vaccinated and who isn't. But with the leagues I'm in, there hasn't been much change. The virtual ones were always virtual, the in person always that way, too. Getting excited for this year!
  8. Agreed. So embarrassing. This has been much ado about nothing since the beginning. Pathetic to see how organizations like the NFL still engage in fear mongering over the flu.
  9. Mayim Bialik was pretty good. I wonder if she can throw a deep ball...
  10. This argument never had merit to me. Drew Brees is a Hall of Fame Quarterback, he'll only have one ring to show for it. Steve Young is already in the Hall of Fame and he technically has three rings, but he only started in one Super Bowl, and sat behind Montana in the others. Kurt Warner? Hall of Fame, one ring. Johnny Unitas? Hall of Fame, one ring. Len Dawson? Hall of Fame, one ring. Even look at Peyton's career. He won five NFL MVPs. And he only has two Super Bowl Rings to show for it, and his second ring came despite him, not because of him. He was injured that season and played like garbage in the Super Bowl, but it didn't matter because the Denver defense carried the team.
  11. Agree. I don't think the team has really mishandled this at all, to be honest. If he wants to play, that's great for them. If they want to trade him for a boat load of picks, they can. They haven't done anything wrong, and haven't said anything incendiary. As always, the media keeps trying to create more drama than actually exists.
  12. Imagine being so fragile that you're offended by the term, "complicated." Would he rather be called simple? Much ado about nothing. Murphy didn't do anything wrong.
  13. Because this reflects poorly on the owners. And the owners have money and influence. And the media bends its collective knees to those who have money and influence. Very sad, but very true.
