  1. me too. :unsure:We're going there for breakfast. I'll be the one with the Kitty Jockey t-shirt.
  2. Great lens for the price, but you will find it has limites due to focal length. 17-85 is a stud lens, but a costly one...but it will do great portraits! Check out this site: POTN I buy ALL MY used gear there...the best Canon site on the net....BAR NONE That lens is a lot out of my price range. Thanks for the info and link.Since you're looking for a portrait lens and you're on a budget, the 50 1.8 is a slam dunk. Pair it with a 35 down the line and you'll have two good value prime lenses that you'll use all the time. 50mm f1.8 is great. I have that lens and an 18-200mm and despite the latter
  3. I'll be down there at the same time, but the best I could do at 'Ohana is an 810PM reservation for Monday night. With 2 'lil ones, it's unlikely that we'll want to wait that late, so I'll probably be cancelling this reservation.
  4. I'm a big fan of short ribs recently. Cooked up a batch of this yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Below is the general recipe, but I scaled the meat back to 1 1/2 lbs. of short ribs and cut everything else about in half. Tastes similar to Coq Au Vin. We skipped the parsley, so it's effectively 5 things you need: short ribs, wine, mushrooms, onions and sour cream. I'd be interested in other short ribs ideas if you got 'em. Short Ribs Parisienne Ingredients: 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 4 pounds beef, short ribs, cut into 3" pcs 1/2 teaspoon peppe
  5. Went to meet some friends at a park district event this weekend... of course the location wasn't there on Apple maps but it was there on Google maps. Glad to hear that others are still loving the Apple maps though.
  6. J Mascis is quietly killing it the past 5 years...solo and with Dino Jr.Love Dino Jr. New one is good, but I liked Farm better.I'm liking The Palace Garden by Beat Connection. Lil more feminine than the average testosterone loving stuff posted here, but I like it.
  7. I cant help you on the right lens, but just yesterday I ordered the 28mm 1.8 for canon. Around 5am this morning I got cold feet and cancelled the order and amazon allowed me to cancel as it hadn't shipped yet. This afternoon as I though about which lens to get instead, I got a flat and find out I needed four new tires. So, no new lens and, yes, I can relate to lens deliberation. Good luck with the D600 - looks like an awesome camera!
  8. Had a similar experience the other day with my 4S. I was trying it just to see how it was working. I ended up ignoring the route. Not to defend Apple here, but the Google maps ap would take me some pretty crazy routes at times too. I'm sure this is horrible (still on my 4), but Google maps for iPhone was just ok, not greatGoogle usually knew if I was on the highway. The new apple maps did not. Not saying I tested it 100x - but it is frustrating when the first two times you use it, it sucks.
  9. Used maps twice today for directions and both times the proposed route was horrible. Wish I could go back to iOS 5. In general, I still like Apple products and they do things right more often than wrong, but this is a step backwards. Not life changing, but still frustrating
  10. Backwards? Google maps on iOS didn't even have turn- by-turn directions. Stop acting like the old Map app was so great. It was bare bones and honestly it was a complete joke compared to the Android version of Google Maps. The old app was already so inferior there is nowhere to go but forward. For 99% of users, Apple maps will be a big step forward in useability right out of the gate. Losing Street View is a bummer, but it's not a core function that a majority of users rely on every day. Turn-by-turn is. Apple HAD to make this move, and they had to do it now because their license with Google Ma
  11. Seems that way. I just updated my iPad and wanted to check it out. My very own street is wrong as are the gas stations near by. Also whereas google had the lot lines drawn, imaps is just a big gob of land. I wish I didn't upgrade the iPad to ios 6. I doubt I ever use Siri on it. What else does it do for iPad even?Do you people live in flyover country or something? Apple Maps is even spot on in down here in hickville, TN. Maps comparison Bowling Green Hometown It's terrible now. Just wait until you try traffic with Apple vs. the way it was before.
  12. I lost all credibility for him when he said he played the game with probability, statistics and heart.Any engineer worth a lick wouldn't count probability and statistics as two separate tenants.Would that be two separate security deposits on those tenants?
  13. Loaded iOS6. So how do I get rid of VIP mailbox? The new maps aren't bad, but I prefer the Google Maps: Google> Apple >> MapQuest

  15. Unlike Evil Dick, Dan never seemed that proud of what he was doing, or didn't seem to enjoy being a RichardI think Dan was more deserving, but I'm sill happy for Ian. Unusual BB season in that I didn't hate both of the final two Maybe not publicly but did you notice his smirks and gloating away from the others? He was proud of his actions.I thought he was gloating for staying in the house when he had no business staying there that long. Whatever. It was impressive that he remained that long. I'm not voting for him to be President

  17. I think Dan wins if he's in final 2. He's been mixing it up much more each week and actively influencing votes much moreso than Ian or Danielle. He's also made more "big moves" that some people look at for voting. And he's about equal or has a slight edge in comps and HoHs. Not saying that its not possible that people will vote with emotion and spite, but it would surprise me.
  18. Huh? Aren't all the evictions live? Tonight Jen got booted.Nope. It happened last night.ETA: Apparently tonight's episode was different because it was a "special surprise eviction". I guess tomorrow's episode is live.Ask them if people are asked to clap a certain way. People in the gallery on BB always clap the same way almost like robots. Wasn't sure if this was by accident. Sadly, this is not schtick.
  19. Raveonettes: Observator similar quality and sound to earlier albums, so if you liked those, this is good. If not, GTFO.
  20. It's really dense and sort of runs together after one listen. I dig their (his) sound, though. Probably a good drug album. On first listen, it's good but not great. It def sounds like a Tame Impala album.
  21. This record is good, very Sugar-yMakes sense, considering he's been touring Copper Blue. I've gotten very drunk with Jason Narducy and Jon Wuster. Those guys are fun as hell.Going to see that show on Saturday, should be awesome, especially since the new material is good tooNew album sounds similar to File Under Easy Listening. I like it. Not quite as good as Body of Song, but def one of his better solo albums.
  22. I've actually been surprised that Dan has been able to pull off the #### he has without it blowing up into a nuclear war in the house. He's lied to get in the position he is in now, but the people that have been booted as a result of his sheninigans generally don't take it personally once they've cooled it off. Joe is probably the exception to this.
