  1. Meyer seems like an absolute car wreck. Lawrence will be fine, Jags just need to get Meyer out of there and install an experienced, reasonable HC. Even somebody like Jim Caldwell would be an improvement
  2. What’s interesting about this last paragraph is that Quinn made it a point to be trying to do the same - building from the lines out. I think he may have even stated that that was his modus operandi when he joined us. Certainly, the draft stock spent, and free agency signings, would back that narrative - Decker/Crosby/Wagner/Ragnow/Glasgow/Flowers/Lang/Snacks etc etc. His drafting was probably around average at best, but it was the terrible coaching, head and positional, that really didn’t allow any of these investments to equate to anything.
  3. I usually religiously watch at 6pm on a Sunday evening when I’m not working. This one is coinciding with two weeks off work and the wife off to Serbia today to see her family for the first time in 2 years so I’ve got the house to myself, a good Scottish single malt, and no responsibilities to deal with tomorrow so I’m in for the long haul if I don’t fall asleep first !!
  4. Well I don’t hold up much hope of the Lions doing anything here, so I put on an accumulator ( a parley i think you guys call it ). Scantling anytime TD Hockenson anytime TD Rodgers throws for over 281.5 yards Goff above 0.5 INTS Swift above 28.5 yards receiving Adam’s anytime TD Packers to win 55/1 - £40 stake wins £2240
  5. absolute joke where some people on here were ranking Stafford as a QB in this league in terms of ability at several points over the last few years, quite often behind rookie/sophomore flash in the pans. The importance of coaching and players around a QB is vastly underrated.
  6. Picked him up in dynasty off the wire last year, tried to sell, couldn’t get value so decided to just run with him. Then today, I get offered Odell Beckham Jnr for him. Leaning towards saying no tbh, the positional scarcity for usable RBs is just so much higher than at WR.
  7. I actually quite liked Evans coming out of college and have him on a dynasty roster, but his career has just seemed so stop and start so far. Has never been able to get any momentum up.
  8. The timing on this post is unreal, I’ve just spent the last 30 mins scouring the free agency pool in my dynasty league and with a couple of players moving to IR for just now, I’ve lined up Raymond, Hodge and Benson as adds, with Benson being the last one I just did 2 minutes ago. I figure that there’s at least a reasonable chance that one of these guys could become serviceable and have some value. Agreed on Benson, the Lions committed to getting a trade done for him as they didn’t want to risk losing out on him if he ended up on waivers. Yes, there are more established players like Williams, and a highly drafted guy like St Brown on the roster, but he will get his chances
  9. Dobbins/Akers/Etienne all in the same dynasty team. 😔
  10. Dynasty Hot Saucer ! I thought this was all Dynasty based ! i'm a few bourbons deep though
  11. @BobbyLayne def hunt with a QB ! 0.5 ppr start 9, 2-5 rb, 2-5 wr QBs : Lawrence, Dalton, Carr, Newton RBs : Edwards, Elliot, D Evans, Gaskin, Kamara, Kelley, McFarland, Jamaal Williams, Ozigbo, WRs : Chark, A Cooper, G Davis, J Jefferson, Kupp, Perriman, Shenault, Thielen, Unicorn, Sims, Isabella, Surratt, TE : Ebron, Parham, Schultz prospective/cusp starters in bold
  12. All the time. Standard Lions games are 6pm UK time Sunday eve. Thursday/Sunday/Monday night football generally around 12.30 - 01.30 am so sometimes depending on work. Have seen them twice in person at Wembley. Have been to Detroit and stood on the Ford Field pitch albeit during summer
  13. I actually... can’t as it stands ! This league is on the sleeper app which I’m absolutely awful at navigating. Can’t seem to find draft history. However it was these exact players and along the lines of Lawrence, Lance, Chase, Harris, Pitts, Wilson, Fields, Williams
  14. I’m always at least lurking if not posting very much through the off season ! He will no doubt be very happy right now then, Rangers got their first title in over a decade and may go the whole season undefeated. Emm yeah, Newcastle, big city and support but haven’t won any trophy at all, let alone the league, since that time !
  15. I’m intrigued by both these WRs. Numerically, they are low down on the depth chart with quite a few bodies in front of them. But let’s be honest, most of those names aren’t particularly inspiring and are journeymen. They have the chance to impress and move quickly up the roster if they flash talent. They will be fresh and malleable players for the new coaching staff to mould. I know Sage Surratt was the name that kept popping up on WR lists leading up the draft, but I really like the sound of Adams and his production in college. Wiffs of a Golliday-lite type of situation where he may have been undervalued going into the draft. I’ve been grabbing him for taxi squads in my dynasty rosters. ive been very busy recently so wasn’t aware of Rakeem Boyd. I’ll keep my eye on that one thanks.
  16. 12 team 1Qb, 0.5 ppr league I've got Kamara/Elliot/Gaskin and a few others at RB and my QBs were down to Carr/Newton/Dalton with Brees retiring traded Josh Jacobs for 1.12 where I took Lawrence and a 2022 1st round pick which I’m fairly certain will be a top 4 pick, because this guy is meant to be re-building and has a horrible squad, yet doesn’t seem to fully understand the concept of a rebuild
  17. Was astonished to nab this guy at 1.09 in my super flex dynasty draft.
  18. I think the draft might go Lawrence, Wilson, Fields or Lance Pitts Chase Trade down for a QB team or Waddle I think we might have the pick of OTs and that would probably be the most solid and logical choice, failing a trade down, or Chase somehow falling.
  19. That would be so Lions esque. Rodgers leaves the division and Stafford leaves us. We were never even THAT good last ten years but there’s been a good few seasons where I wager that we’d have won the division if Rodgers wasn’t the Packers QB
  20. He’s had his fair share of knocks and injuries the last couple of years but he’s generally durable as hell, and his arm has lost absolutely none of its strength. I think in the last 2-3 years he’s kind of matured as well in the mental aspects of the game. Barring any further major injury, I think a team would be getting 3-4 good years out of him
  21. Sad day tbh, but certainly don’t begrudge him at all. Just sad we could never build something reliable around him that give it a fair crack of the whip. He’s a stand up guy, and always represented the city and the team in the best fashion possible. It’s going to be weird not seeing him at the helm.
  22. Wow. No idea if he’s going to turn us into a winning team, but I’m definitely feeling pumped up now ! "This place (Detroit) has been kicked, it's been battered, it's been bruised, and I can sit up here and give you coach speech all day long, I can give you (sic) hey we're gonna win this many games. I can't - none of that matters and you guys don't want to hear it anyway. You've heard enough of that **** - so, excuse my language. Alright, here's what I do know... this team, is gonna take on the identity of this city, alright, and this city has been down and it found a way to get up... it's found a way to overcome adversity. This team is going to built on, alright, we're gonna kick you in the teeth, alright, and when you punch us back, we're gonna smile at you, and when you knock us down, we're gonna get up, and on the way up, we're gonna bite a kneecap off, alright, and we're gonna stand up, alright, and it's gonna take two more shots to knock us down, alright, and on the way up we're gonna take your other kneecap, and then we're gonna get up, and then it's gonna take us three shots to get us down and when we do, we're gonna takeanother hunk out of you before - before long, we're gonna be thelast one standing. Alright, that's gonna be the mentality." brilliant
