  1. This is not true at all. Governors were looking to the federal government for a cohesive national plan. It was only after they were told they were on their own that they started finding their own supplies. Even then, in at least one case, those supplies were co-opted by the federal government for "their own stockpile".
  2. From a policy perspective, do you think she is going to vote any differently than the person she is replacing?
  3. Maybe. But I recall plenty of condescension and snark from both sides during the Bush and Obama years around here. That being said, there did seem to be a more respectful exchanging of ideas then.
  4. I could be wrong, but it feels like a lot of posters who would have identified as "moderately conservative" left this place after 2016.
  5. Outrage fatigue. When I heard about what they are doing, my first thought was "Of course they are." Short of Kent Stating everybody, nothing these goons do surprises me. And part of me is like "Hey, keep doing it." This is going to be a huge failure on their part and the more they turn people against them, the bigger the ### kicking is going to be in November. And it needs to be a massive ### kicking in November all the way down the ballot.
  6. You've been saying this same thing for at least the last 5 years, yet here you are. I wonder why that is.
  7. I don't think I've ever seen to that extent someone try to look so strong and come out looking so weak.
  8. That's some good old fashioned smitin' right there.
  9. Not that I think that's true in the least but if it were, I'm guessing Fox wouldn't be too upset either.
  10. No idea why anyone around here still engages with that guy.
  11. It's not like he would be in the crowd. He doesn't give a ####. I guarantee we are going to hear stories of him wanting to have rallies.
  12. And yet 47 percent of the population thinks he has done a good job with this. It's really hard to have any faith in this country when I see poll numbers like that.
  13. I'm not worried about it. I thought it was weird and I think he's at best oblivious to what's going on, but "worry" doesn't enter into it for me.
  14. I see 5-6 of these people every time I go shopping. Want to punch them in the throat. I've run into the same guy three times in the last two weeks that just doesn't give a ####. I saw him two weeks in a row at the grocery store even though I went on different days and I stopped in PetSmart today to get dog food. I'm getting in line, he walks in the door and passes by me, maybe a foot away. I looked around like I was being pranked. And I know it's the same guy because all three times he was wearing the same clothes with a wooden cross necklace. Maybe it's Jesus testing my patience?
  15. Seems pretty premature here. Is it a "nice job" if cases in Tennessee take off like a rocket?
  16. Everything - and I mean everything - is in service to his ego.
  17. Cool cool cool cool cool cool cool Trump's response: 'I don’t agree' with Fauci over US testing capabilities to curb coronavirus. I think the bolded needs to be fact-checked. Trump said Thursday he disagreed with Fauci's remarks, claiming the U.S. is "very advanced in testing." "Other countries are calling us to find out what are we doing," Trump explained during the daily press briefing at the White House. "And by the way, within two weeks, you'll see numbers, and you'll see different forms of testing, just like we came up with the Abbott Laboratories machine, which gives it to you in five minutes, and everyone wants -- everybody is asking, can we get that? But you can only make them so fast. "But, as you know, we have done more testing than every other nation combined, and that’s a big statement. When they talk about different tests and different things, we are also a bigger nation than most," he added. "And so, when they look at statistics, statistically, we are doing phenomenally, in terms of mortality, in terms of all of the different elements that you can judge. If he said that, I don’t agree with him." No, it really doesn't need to be fact-checked. You, me, and anyone else who isn't firmly in his corner knows it's a lie. And for the people in his corner, checking it won't matter anyway.
  18. Because his ego is so fragile that he has to act like he knows everything about everything? He's the worst kind of idiot - he has no idea that he doesn't know anything and he has power.
  19. We watched it and finished it yesterday. It's only 4 episodes long. The first episode dragged along for a while and almost gave up. It does improve by the end and the start of episode 2. I don't know quite how to review it. I think it's worth a watch. I don't think it's amazing, but it's fascinating and awful all rolled into one. Some good acting at times, some bad as well. I'm glad I watched it but I don't think it'll be for everyone. I agree with this. I enjoyed it but I'm not quite sure why.
  20. I legitimately don't think your country works anymore. To say the inmates are running the asylum in an understatement. I think you're right. There's a clown out front distracting everyone while a group of a##holes steals everything that's not nailed down. MAGA indeed.
  21. That's what it looks like when the soul leaves the body.
