  1. I agree that the mystery is way more interesting than the show, especially since there isn't a payoff. I'm not sure what more these guys are doing differently than all the other people before them besides using that scanner made of PVC pipes. Seems like that island has been torn up pretty good already. Got to believe the episode they pulled the wood up from the drill hole was just some old junk backfilled from other explorations. If they really thought they found the vault, why not put a camera down the hole and check it out? The dye episode was really slow. Using green dye wasn't really thought out too well. I still watch and think some of the Templar/Mason angles are interesting, but there is only so long they can string this thing out.
  2. I have an iolite and like it. I have the older version. it seems to burn a bit hot to me and has no temp controls, but I like the convenience and it was relatively cheap compared to other handhelds. little to no smell, just not the smoothest vape IMO. I also have a plug in vapor brothers box that vapes better, but it's a hassle to warm up and use. Since smoke messes up my sinuses, vaping is all I can do and it works great for me. The iolite does get warm, but it keeps the hands warm in winter, which is nice.
  3. Their second half schedule looks easy. Could be a good buy low.
  4. Bingo. You know the bar is set high when people discuss "What's wrong with Brees" and he's 3rd in the NFL in yards and the Saints are #1 it total offense and #4 in passing. FBG even downgraded him as no longer elite. I have him and I'm feel "disappointed", but then look at his numbers. The only problem I see is the run game vulturing TDs. Saints had 10 total running TDs all year in both 2012 and 2013, and they have 7 TDs in 5 weeks this year. Give Brees 3 or 4 of those scores and are people talking about his decline? The discussion is different for fantasy football and real football. It looks like Brees is roughly #8 for fantasy QBs so far this year. Considering where his average draft position / auction value was, that's really bad considering the costs of QBs who have put up equivalent fantasy production. True, I'm trying to figure out why that is and if Brees value for the remaining year is QB 8 or lower. Andrew Luck is uber stud fantasy QB #1 so far, but all his stats mirror Brees.....except TDs. People aren't questioning if Luck is elite talent, but 5 games in some claim Brees no longer is. The real question for me is are the lack of TDs a statistical aberration since his attempts and yards are high, or is it something else?

The TDs may be "bingo", but he's way off on his pass attempts- he's on pace for a career high there. Attempts would be a career high, but doesn't seem that much different than 2013. If he keeps the same pace he'd have 27 more attempts for 125 less yards. TDs would be way down.

  7. Seems like the past few seasons there have been "what's wrong with Drew Brees" articles about this time of the year, and the guy somehow makes it work out in the end. Last year at this time, other than the week 4 Mia game, he wasn't that great either. His oblique might be an issue, I wondered about that too. He might be on the downside of his career and have a dead arm, who knows. I just think you have to let the guy play a full season to really judge him.
  8. I couldn't find anyone to go with that weekend and stayed home. Big mistake. Sounds great, wish I went. Thanks for the link.
  9. It obviously depends on scoring format, but in the distance scoring league I have him in, Cordarrelle is ahead of AJ Green, Brandon Marshall, Randall Cobb, Demaryius Thomas and Alshon Jeffery, who were all taken ahead of him. I would imagine in PPR he isn't so hot, but I'm not sure who thought he'd be a reception machine? He is what he is, a threat to take it the distance in any game. I fine with him.
  10. This guy is just collecting pay checks at this point. Had him last year, never again. Just collecting paychecks? For doing nothing more than leading the NFL in carries for the first two weeks. How dare a RB who carries the ball more than any other in the league have the audacity to get banged up. C'mon, man! Understand the game they are playing. The guy is wrecked. He thought about retiring last year. I don't blame the guy, but I also have zero expectations that he'll want to play through injury and he doesn't have to. So tell me, how many players at this point of the season are 100%?

  12. This game reminded me too much of last year. Miller running well on the ground but Mia forcing Tannehill to throw far too much. Then you mix in Thomas making another appearance. Ooof. I don't understand the coaching philosophy down there, other than they think Tannehill is Aaron Rodgers or something. Teams like the Giants, and even KC showed this week that running the ball still works in the NFL when you have average or struggling QBs. If the run game was getting stuffed I can understand flinging it all over, but averaging 7.2 a carry and only getting him 15 carries is beyond stupid. This was a game into the 4th quarter. All I can think of is that they have no confidence in giving Miller 20+ carries for some reason, because they had the blueprint week 1 when they had 30+ carries. Weird team.
  13. Tough to figure out when to play him. Under utilized deep threat, on a bad team. Guy looks like a freak, especially his speed for a big guy. How is Miami D vs. TEs this year?
  14. I had no idea you could be a player rep and not have a job in the NFL. Weird.
  15. I see the "idiot" thing thrown around a lot about Gordon. Seems like the problems that are public aren't much different than many 23 year old kids. He drinks and parties. He just needs to mature, and probably could use some mentoring to make better choices. That is another crazy thing about the punishment doled out by the league. Where is the support and rehabilitation? This is another problem with Goodell and the NFL, even with the domestic abuse policy, there is very little effort in rehabilitation. Fans like to see these players. Players mess up. How about going the extra mile to help and support them? It is crazy just to banish talented players. Fans want to see great athletes play football. Punishment is fine, but the absence of league support to help rehabilitate them is just insane. Take their game checks, don't let them play, but don't let them remain with the team? Dumb. he's risked his dream, and millions of dollars, for weed he's an idiot Take the money out of the equation. I'd bet 80% of the people here in the 20's and beyond "risked" their lives driving over the limit. Everyone is an idiot.

  17. Maybe. I agree that NE will be more effective this week on O, which should add to CPs chances. Not to mention that since last year NE hasn't proven able to stop the run. If Moreno and Miller could run all over them, what are Peterson and Patterson going to do with their carries?
  18. He seems like a must start now. Tough to bench a player with his skill set IMO. There aren't many guys in the league that can take it the distance with any touch. The Vikings only had 17 completions last week, not many receptions to go around. He'll get more when the Vikings need to score. Last week they were on cruise control. I don't see them being that improved where they also roll over NE, but anything is possible I guess.
  19. I believe the Gordon suspension is ridiculous as is the NFLs stance on pot, but that isn't on Goodell, those were the rules. What is on Goodell and the NFL is waiting the entire summer to deal with it, and the terrible optics of giving Rice a 2 game suspension in comparison. Hell, I even thought it was fishy that two teams in the same division had their star players situations treated so differently. I have no idea if Goodell plays favorites, but he's always come across to me as arbitrary when deciding things. I think his handling of the Rice situation reinforces the notion that he isn't an honest broker, and that is bad for him and the NFL. Regarding Gordon, I don't see a reversal of his suspension as necessarily being something that helps Goodell and the NFL, in fact it could do just the opposite. The NFL never once disputed the narrative of Gordon as this "drug addict" that was played out in the media. I truly believe that Gordon's failed test was a false positive based on second hand smoke. Maybe I'm wrong, but the levels are crazy low, and the guy gets tested all the time. Weed is also super potent these days, no way he draws that low of a level unless he's smoking ditch weed. But I do believe most casual fans assume Gordon is a crazed drug addict. Reinstatement carries a huge risk in another PR nightmare. Not only do they waffle on domestic violence, but the NFL also waffles on drug users. This could of all been avoided if Goodell was proactive in coming out earlier criticizing the absurdity of the drug policy. If he believed Gordon wasn't a "drug addict" he could of went to bat for him. Gordon is a legit superstar in the league, who I believe got caught making a bad decision who he hung around with, not his use of drugs. His silence just reinforced that maybe Gordon really is a drug addict. No way a reversal helps Goodell's or the NFL's image, it would be just another example of the NFL bumbling another issue.
  20. Obviously he wasn't playing against starters, but I think he looked like a potential NFL starting RB is supposed to look against borderline NFL talent, which is encouraging to me.That may be true, I just wanted to add that what the Bears did last night wasn't normal, even for week 4 preseason games.
  21. He may be a good back, but the Bears had like only 35 guys active tonight. Many of the second stringers weren't playing, much to the confusion of Chicago sports radio. I'm not sure how much can be gleaned from that game at all, but yes, he ran all over the guys they threw out there.
  22. to weed out the idiots in the league, no matter their talent level. The Hall of Fame is full of "idiots" then.
  23. Cooks-mania is hotter than tech stocks and tulip bulbs. Went top of the 5th in a FFPC draft yesterday. I thought I reached for him at the bottom of the 8th a few weeks ago. Doubt he'll be on many more of my teams going forward.
  24. As an ongoing concern, feet held together by screws just doesn't seem like a good thing for a WR. Love the guys game, but I have doubts. At his ADP, his risk seems to outweigh the potential to me.
