  1. That vote was taken under a bit of duress, wouldn't you say? Russians have them surrounded and no one from the west has shown any desire to defend them. How else would that vote go?
  2. I thought the two best songs of the night involved Jeff Lynne. He should have his own show where guests come on and cover Beatles songs with him. I'd watch that.
  3. Did anyone else find it odd that Paul played Birthday? One of the very few Beatles songs where Ringo didn't play the drums.
  4. He's won six majors since 2002, including a career Grand Slam, and that 2008 US Open was about as impressive as anything else he's ever done.
  5. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/golf--tiger-woods--critics-are-missing-the-point-013920576.html"He could easily be the type of player who is winning majors consistently into his mid-40s, given his historic work ethic and desire." His historic work ethic and desire got him zero majors in his mid-30s, it's hard to believe he'll do it consistently into his mid-40s.
  6. I'm no hater but I have doubts. He won zero majors in his mid-thirties, I don't expect him to win five in his late thirties and forties.
  7. Meh, who cares. It's all about winning majors, not the ham and egger tourneys. #1 in the world does not equal "finished," "done," or anything in that category. So it matters for purposes of this silly thread. Not so sure. The original post in this thread said he will remain competitive...and that is all he is at this point. He may be # 1, but he is the worst # 1 in history and he no longer strikes fear into opponents. Worse than Norman?
  8. I'm loving Norm MacDonald's podcast.
  9. Phil was whacked in front of his family because they were at war and he was on the run with them. Under normal circumstances they would have waited until he was alone.
  10. You should be able to find a 12 inch Lodge at Walmart for about twenty bucks.
  11. We all know what the fifth song was.
  12. We asked nicely and some of you guys are intentionally being ##### about it. I'd rather watch each episode without any spoilers of any kind. So adios, #####es.
  13. The scene where Walt is creating the fake riacin cigarette while his phone conversation with Jesse plays over it is getting overlooked. That was a great scene. It was an interesting way of telling the story and another example of why this is such a great show.
  14. Skyler said the car wash was profitable on it's own, without the laundering.I guess I can get why Walt might decide to go kingpin at this point if he was solo, but not why he'd risk endangering his kids yet.At this point providing for his family is no longer the reason Walt does what he does, it's just the excuse he uses. He knows from his dealings with Gus how easy it is to end up on the wrong side of the kind of guy who'd kill his whole family. But it doesn't bother him because he feels invincible.
  15. If he retires from cooking he'd spend the rest of his life working for Skyler at the car wash. He'd hate working for her even more than he hated working for Bogdan. Besides, he killed Gus. He took out the Terminator. If he can do that, what can't he do?
  16. BUMPWhy I am I reading plain text about people speculating about spoilers from upcoming episodes. STOP IT. Start a thread called BB Spoilers or something, I purposely do not even watch upcoming episode attractions to avoid this type of stuff. At the very least when someone posts a spoiler reply with a SPOILER tag not plain text. While I actually did use spoiler tags in my original post, if you didn't watch next weeks teaser then that's on you. It's something that aired. You're welcome to start your own thread if you're going to get uptight about something the majority of us watched.I'm with JoJo on this. I avoid the previews and spoilers as much as I can. This has been a great thread and it would be a shame to chase off any of the guys who want to participate in it.Then don't come in the thread. If it's aired on TV, it's fair gameExactly. And like you said, someone's theory of how things might go. Those aren't spoilers. That's what message boards are for. I agree. Speculation is great and a big part of what makes this a fun thread. It's speculating based on previews or other spoilers that we're trying to avoid. If you think Hank is going to catch Walt because of something we've seen on the show, by all means post it. But if you think Hank is going to catch Walt because of something in the previews, or something you read in an inteview with the cast or producers, we're asking you to put it in spoiler tags.

  18. Probably the most significant moment of the shoe. The family barbeques will never be the same nowIt looks like Merkert's career is killed because of his relationship with Fring. Hank has to be wondering that if Walt is his man, then what might happen to him.I expect Hank's intial reaction to be 'nah..it couldn't be...could it?"I don't think we can assume Hank suspects Walt based on one facial expression. If and when Hank ever suspects Walt, it shouldn't take him too long to confirm it.I agree. It seems like a set up moment that leads to him finding out. Maybe he asks Jr some leading questions but gets no where. It still nags at him so he talks to Syler. That would be a great scene. How is Mike going to work, he is going to have intense police scutiny.I think, at first, he'll try to rule it out. When he can't rule it out, he'll start to take that "crazy" thought seriously.Help me out here, besides knowing that Walt knows Jesse and that Walt used to buy some pot off of Jesse, what other coincidences or connections does Hank know or suspect Walt of having to Heisenberg, Gus Fring, Tio Salamacca, blue meth, Gayle, the RV, etc...? Hasn't Walt's involvement been kept a secret pretty well? A lot of close calls but either by Walt's involvement or luck of circumstances it seems to me that Walt's involvement has been fairly well hidden. What would make Hank suspect Walt other than his knowing Jesse, science labratory equipment from Walt's school being "stolen" and used to cook meth, Walt having two cell phones, Walt coming into enough money "from playing poker" to help Hank out with medical costs? Am I forgetting something more concrete?Hank doesn't know that Walt is paying his medical bills, but he does know Walt has enough money to pay his own medical bills and buy a car wash. He also knows that Walt bought Jr the sports car that Skyler made him take back.I think the lightbulb moment for Hank will be when he realizes that the car accident he and Walt had near the laundromat was no accident.

If and when Hank ever suspects Walt, it shouldn't take him too long to confirm it.If that's not what was demonstrated with that scene then that's some amateur hour bs. There was no mistaking the walk up to it..."right under my nose", the gravity of the situation with his buddy and somebody he respects losing his job, "RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE", then the recognition and cut. There's no way that's not what happened there. And if it's not, that's the lamest thing I've seen on the show. I think that scene works even if Hank doesn't see the connection between him and Walt. The audience sees it, and that's enough for me.

  21. Cho is a chemical supplier. Last season some cartel goons held him hostage, and kept Gus from receiving his shipments. That's when Mike showed up and killed the goons, then shot Cho in the hand.
  22. Only if one of those wins is the PGA.
  23. I noticed that after tasting each of the sauces he continued eating the chicken, but without any sauce.
  24. That's impressive, but he's not chasing Jack's record for weeks ranked #2. The only thing that matters is majors, and if he doesn't at least make a run at Jack's record his career will be conisdered a disappointment. Which says a lot about the guy, because anyone else playing today would love to retire with fourteen majors.
