Updated tourney record 5-2-1 (+3.20)
Updated tourney record 7-2-1 (+6.05)

Always nice to start off the morning with a big winner.

Trying to handicap the next game is sheer folly, as who knows how the Danes will come out, and this will surely be a very emotional game.Β  But, I'm pretty much a degenerate, and if someone tells me it's folly to try, well, so be it, I'm going to try.

Anytime goal scorer Vestegaard (+1800) 0.1 to win 1.8

Anytime goal scorer Tielmans (+680) 0.3 to win 2.04

Belgium o4.5 corners (-130) 1.3 to win 1.0

Danes dropped Wind from their starters, as he was largely ineffective the first match out, and replaced him with 20 year old Damsgaard.Β  Frankly, I know nothing about him, as I've watched more Copenhagen matches than Sampdoria, but I suppose he's highly rated.Β  Braithwaite and Poulsen also start in the attack, but it's going to be difficult for Danes to get much fluidity considering the absence of their star player.Β  Danes do have a pretty solid defense and breaking them down may be a tough task for Belgium, which is why I'm playing the corner market this game.Β  Hazard is back starting and KdB and Witsel are both available, but the Belgians should be able to supply a ton of pressure all game long.Β  Mertens pace will be tough to handle, and you have to figure Carrasco can win a few corners.

If the Danes score, I think it will be from a set piece, be it a corner, free kick, pk, as I'm not sure they'll be able to score from open play.Β  At 6'6, Vesteegaard always seems to be to be a bit dangerous on corners and at 18/1, I'll throw a tenner on there.Β  I do like Tielmans quite a bit as a player, and although all the attack will seemingly flow through Lukaku in the middle, I think the Danes could try to suffocate him, and try to have the Belgians score from the wingsΒ  I can easily see Mertens flying through, laying off to Tielmans and whammo.Β  Okay, probably not going to happen, but if this game opens up, anyone from Belgium can score really.

Obviously I'm not super confident in many goals here, as Denmark lost to the worst team in the group already and will have their backs against the wall here against the best team in the group.Β  Hoping to see both teams score though and one go for the winner, but I think this game will be much tighter than the other two being played today.

g'luck if playing.

Belgium look like they have been hit with a Buster Douglas haymaker.

(I hope Eriksen's heart is ok. :oldunsure: Β )

He will receive an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), a small electronic device that is a type of pacemaker and can prevent fatal cardiac arrests by discharging a jolt to restore a regular heart rhythm.

"After Christian has been through different heart examinations, it has been decided that he should have an ICD," doctor Morten Boesen said in a statement. "This device is necessary after a cardiac attack due to rhythm disturbances.

"Christian has accepted the solution and the plan has moreover been confirmed by specialists nationally and internationally who all recommend the same treatment."

Netherlands defender Daley Blind still plays professionally, for Ajax, with an ICD. He had one fitted after being diagnosed with an inflamed heart muscle in 2019.

Italian FA rules bar players from playing with internal defibrillators, so Eriksen would need special dispensation to return to Inter.

I was more worried that his heart would not be able to handle the emotions of this game - with Denmark winning.

Good question, I'd say Messi and Ronaldo still belong, De Bruyne, and Mbappe.

I'd take Lewandowski or Lukaku over Kane, but also feel like Kante is such a great player at his position that he deserves a mention.
Yeah, I was mostly curious where you had Kane vs KDB. I'd have them both grouped with Mbappe, Lewa a tick above after having such an amazing season.

I can get onboard w/ this list.Β  I wouldΒ even put the top 2 a notch above the others.Β  I'm not sure who I would drop from the list to get to 5.Β Β
I can see the argument that CR7 has become one dimensional and may even have hurt Juventus a bit by being a ball suck.Β Β

I can also see the argument for Kante, although I thought he had kind of faded a lot for Chelsea until Tuchel took over.Β  Maybe the only midfielder who canΒ neutralize Kante is Frank Lampard.

I am distracted by theΒ Spurs fiasco - but what I have seen, I would describe it more as Belgium look discombobulated.

Almost like they are surprised Denmark showed up to play, let alone try to win.
I disagree. Denmark has looked great all game and I don't think it's due to Belgium being poor.

Denmark has created some fantastic chances all game long while defending well.
